More About Coach Fabio
Boasting more than 12 years as a soccer coach, I specialize in providing personalized, one-on-one training sessions tailored to individual children. Alongside my coaching expertise, I offer a comprehensive home practice guide, ensuring players enhance their skills swiftly and are well-prepared for subsequent sessions. My training drills are intentionally intense, designed to extract optimal performance from each player. I work with all age groups, but my preference is to work with kids aged 5 to 12. Whether your child is part of a club or you aspire to elevate their skills to the next level, I am the ideal coach to guide their development.
I began my soccer journey at the Portuguesa Santista Club in Brazil, dedicating myself from the age of 7 to 16. Intense training fueled my skill development, leading to participation in national competitions where I clinched multiple tournament victories. Transitioning to the U.S., I played for Richmond United in the CVSA League, securing two tournament wins. Since concluding my playing days, my focus has shifted to nurturing young talent and guiding them to their next level.
Soccer Session Plan: One-on-One Training
Objective: Enhance individual soccer skills, focusing on ball control, agility, and finishing.
Session Duration: 60 minutes
Warm-Up (10 minutes):
Dynamic stretching (5 minutes): Incorporate exercises like high knees, butt kicks, and lateral shuffles to increase flexibility and warm up muscles.
Ball mastery drills (5 minutes): Engage the player with the ball using various touches, rolls, and quick changes of direction.
Technical Skills Development (20 minutes):
Dribbling Drills (5 minutes):
Set up cones in a zigzag pattern.
Player dribbles through the cones, focusing on close ball control and quick changes of direction.
Passing and Receiving (7 minutes):
Use a passing sequence (short, long, short) to improve passing accuracy.
Incorporate quick turns after receiving the ball to simulate game situations.
Shooting and Finishing (8 minutes):
Set up a goal or target.
Practice various finishing techniques: volleys, instep drives, and chip shots.
Tactical Awareness (15 minutes):
Positional play: Focus on creating space, decision-making, and awareness of surroundings.
Use cones to simulate opponents and encourage the player to make effective decisions on when to pass, dribble, or shoot.
Conditioning and Agility (10 minutes):
Shuttle runs: Set up cones at varying distances and have the player sprint between them.
Cone agility drills: Improve quick footwork and change of direction.
Cool Down (5 minutes):
Light jogging and static stretching: Help the player gradually decrease heart rate and prevent muscle soreness.
Reflect on the session, discussing areas of improvement and success.
Note:
Adapt the difficulty of drills based on the player's skill level and progress.
Provide constructive feedback and encouragement throughout the session.
Adjust the duration of each section based on the player's fitness level and attention span.
This one-on-one soccer session plan is designed to enhance technical skills, tactical understanding, and physical conditioning while ensuring an engaging and personalized training experience.
