More About Coach Erik

I am an Ex-Professional Lacrosse Player for the Boston Cannons. In college, I attended the United States Air Force Academy where I played midfield, and was a two year Captain and four-year starter. I was selected as an NCAA USILA All-American as well as a USILA Academic All-American in addition to a 2x ECAC All Conference. I was the first player in program history to get drafted to Major League Lacrosse.

I am an experienced coach that has worked with kids of all ages. I have coached College, High School, and youth players. My credibility comes from being a professional lacrosse player, a USILA All American, and a 4 year starter at a Division I program. I have also worked for 3d Lacrosse where I have run camps and I have sat on a selection team to create club All Star Teams.

-------------------- Professional Career --------------------
4 year veteran (3 years w/ the Boston Cannons and 1 year w/ the Florida Launch)
Defensive Midfielder
-------------------- College Career --------------------
37th Pick in the 2014 Collegiate Draft, Selected by Boston Cannons
Two Year Captain Four-Year Varsity Letter Winner and 4 Year Starter
2014 NCAA USILA All-American
2014 USILA Scholar All-American
2x ECAC All Conference Team
2013 Offensive MVP, Face-off Award, Ground ball Award
Current Record Holder for Goals, Assists, Ground balls, and overall Face-off Percentage

A client can request midfield work in all areas: Defensive Midfield, Offensive Midfield, and Face-off work. Positioning and specific skills for each position can be taught.

Personally my workout for a "Do Everything" midfielder is: Athletic warm-up, Face-off drills (includes positioning, technique, and live and skeleton drill work), Shooting drills (on the run and time and room), next it progresses to Offense or Defense specialty drills, group work for group sessions, and then finish with a summary of the techniques covered that day. Athletic, speed, and agility drills can also be implemented upon request.

The recruiting process is difficult for many athletes. I have personally experienced the recruiting process from a player and coach perspective. I am willing to help any athlete with this process and reach out to various coaches across the country.

Client Reviews

Erik is fantastic. He is a true professional - both in his experience and knowledge of the game, and in his ability to teach young players well. He is fun - my son really enjoyed and learned so much in just one session!

Coach Erik an amazing coach with a wealth of knowledge. My son (11) loves working with him. If you want to bring your game to the next level I’d highly recommend being coached up by Erik.

Erik was an excellent coach worked really well with my son. We look forward to continuing his training with Coach Erik

Erik was great with our son; he spent time really digging into the dodges & fakes he was showing him and our son came away with a much stronger understanding of field movement.

Coach Erik was able to key in on what my son wasn’t doing to get himself to the next level. His style of coaching and understanding around technique are what keeps me coming back. He finishes every session letting me know what my son needs to work on in between workouts and what he did with him during a session. If you want your athlete to break into the next level you can’t go wrong with Erik.

Awesome coach, gave great advice. Explained the drills very well and gave reasons why the drills would benefit me. The session was planned out well. Already booked another session. Definitely recommend this training to others!

Coach Erik was very accommodating with the location and time of our session. He did an amazing job reviewing the basics with our 9yr old daughter. She stayed engaged throughout the entire session, which is no easy task! We would absolutely recommend Coach Erik.

He was a great coach!! Very reliable

Coach Erik was extremely attentive to my son's needs. He asked us in advance questions about our son's skill set and what we were looking to develop . Erik has a very patient and caring personality and related very well with our son. After each session he followed up with us with a full report on the drills and positioning that they worked on. My son said that he was one of the best coaches that he has ever had and recommends him to any lacrosse player looking to better their game. Coach Erik truly inspired our son. His level of experience is truly admirable. He is a wonderful coach and we highly recommend him as well.

Coach Erik was great with my son and offered him some basic techniques that will really help him going forward. You can tell that Erik is dedicated to the game of lacrosse and wants to see everyone enjoy the game as much as he does. My son really enjoyed the lesson and liked telling his friends that he worked with a pro lax player!

Coach Erik did a great job working with my 13 year old son. He listened carefully to my concerns and worked specifically on those issues. I was impressed by hiis willingness to work on the psychological aspects of the game as well as the technical. He made the session fun for my son and took the time to explain his thoughts to me afterward. I highly recommend coach Erik!

Erik, who coached my 17 year old son, a high school junior, brings an immense wealth of knowledge and thoughtfulness to the session. From his experience as a recruited high school player, as an All-American at the Air Force Academy, and as a Boston Cannon, Erik - unlike many talented players who can play but not teach - distills the best practices, the techniques, and the nuances. And he imparts that knowledge in a way that easily translates into the brain of a teenager. He constantly makes the connection between little techniques and overall strategy. He's very friendly. His athletic ability, as he demonstrates his points and drills with you, is, itself, inspirational. While the session with my son focused on face-offs and dodging, I'm sure Erik's skills would apply to any aspect of lacrosse. Overall, a fantastic and invaluable experience.

Coach Erik has done amazing work with our son. Great focus on skills training, situational training "what do should you do if...", form and Lax IQ. He excels at the intangibles as well - Coach Erik communicates, engages and challenges our son to learn more and do better every time he picks up a stick. He's also a good guy, approachable, and listens to parent and kid concerns/questions. Couldn't ask for a better Coach.

Coach Erik demonstrates talent and commitment to lacrosse, and he is a strong player and trainer that can work with people of any skill level. He goes into detail and includes all aspects of the game in his coaching, and teaches you what you need to know. He's a great choice if you're looking for someone to help you get better at lacrosse.

My son met with coach Erik. Straight away his manner allowed for a relaxing introduction and strong communication of my son's needs. He asked my son how he could best help him meet his goals and support him going forward, including e-mail of questions and clarification of drills and strategies. Coach Erik plays at the highest level of lacrosse and his insight and knowledge of the game comes through immediately. He tailored his session with a mix of conditioning and understanding of cognitive game situations that a player could then practice on their own. I highly recommend Coach Erik to anyone in need of a private coach who is punctual and personable with great communication skills. Tom (parent)
