More About Coach Erika
I bring three years of coaching experience, specializing in players aged 5 to 17 years old. For the past two summers, I've dedicated myself to coaching youth in Oregon, fostering their development on the field. Additionally, I've spent the last six months as a private soccer coach with First Touch Soccer in the OC area, catering to players ranging from 4 to 16 years old. At First Touch, I'm committed to honing the skills of young athletes across a wide age range. Moreover, I hold a grassroots coaching license, showing my commitment to excellence in coaching and player development.
I am actively pursuing a career in professional soccer. My journey has taken me through various levels of competition, starting from playing at the WPSL Semi-Professional level with Club Albion in San Diego. During my time at Holy Names University, competing in the PAC-West conference at the NCAA Division 2 level, I was honored to serve as captain, leading the team to the most victories in school history. My collegiate experience extends across NCAA Division 3 at Linfield University, NAIA at Westcliff University, and JUCO at Folsom Lake College. Through unwavering determination and dedication, I've climbed the ranks of college soccer in the United States, gaining valuable insights into the game at almost every collegiate level. With this experience, I am confident in my ability to mentor aspiring soccer players who dream of competing at the collegiate level.
Upon arrival, players will dive straight into action, honing their skills with a dynamic warm-up. After that, we shift to a lively sequence of passing drills to maximize their ball control. My expertise lies in ball mastery, an essential skill that one can never master too well. Throughout the session, we'll cover a range of objectives, particularly on position-specific training. For instance, if we're working with an outside back, our focus will be on refining techniques such as crossing and maneuvering out of tight spots under pressure. Drawing from my experience as both a former semi-professional and college player, I always like to wrap up with a touch of enjoyable fitness activities, especially for those who haven't quite met their fitness targets for the session.
