More About Coach Eric

Now located in Atlanta GA, I was previously ranked the number 1 coach in the state of Arizona.

My coaching experience has allowed the opportunity to experience various faucets of the game. Within my experience(s), I've had the privileged to serve as a clinics instructor, individual/group skills coach covering a large spectrum of ages, skills, and abilities from U-12 to D-1. I began as a skills/technique coach for several soccer camps in Abilene, T.X. After 2 years of coaching in Texas, I spent an additional 2 years as an individual skills coach in Colorado Springs, CO with local competitive club players from U-12 to U-18. For an additional 2 yrs, I trained and offered small group and individual tactics to recreational, competitive and collegiate players in Rapid City, SD. I also have experience coaching all genders and skill levels to include but not limited too, experience coaching as an individual and small group skills/tactics coach for the United States Air Force Academy women's team. Ultimately, I have a proven track record of teaching, mentoring and coaching all players of ever ability and gender to significantly improve and surpass his/hers success.

I have an unquenchable thirst and passion for soccer and overall sports. With over 20 years of experience, I've had the opportunity to compete at every level. I know and firmly understand what discipline and commitment means to any athlete attempting to reach the next level. It takes hard work and consistency for any player of all skill levels reach new heights and ability. During my high school career, I was voted MVP for 2 consecutive seasons, was 1 of 3 players to be selected to join the varsity team and was the only freshman player to be placed on the starting roster. I also had the privileged of playing competitive club soccer for two prestigious Texas teams, Solar and FC Dallas. As one of many results of this hard work ethic, I was offered and accepted a full D-1 scholarship to play for the United States Air Force Academy in the Mountain West Conference.

1) Proper warm-ups, plyometrics and complete physiological prep for that training session, i.e,. getting the mind and body ready to train.

2) Building and improving proper individual techniques/skill (dribbling, shooting, passing, creative movements, set plays, ball control, situational awareness, first-touch training and game tempo improvement).

3) Analyzing, critiquing and conversing for areas of improvement.

4) Improve and/or maintaining fitness/conditioning levels, i,e., agility, speed, balance, coordination, explosive training, endurance, core strength...etc. Depending on the individual, I often incorporate these assets early because its important to train and mimic in a similar "game like" environment and/or scenarios.

4) "Game like" tempo focusing on individual skills/techniques of position.

5) Incorporating and connecting the individuals tactics and applicable position to the team (Applying what is learned and understanding how to apply it to total team concepts of effort/tactic).

6) Progressive based training. Essentially, improving ones weaknesses while also improving areas of strength.

7) Cool-down and stretch.

8) Feedback and discussions
