More About Coach Erick
As founder and owner of Erick Butler Basketball, a training program designed to develop basketball players who have a desire to improve their abilities on the court through one-on-one skill training. While specializing in the art shooting, I've recently written a book on basketball shooting titled “Erick Butler Basketball: Shooting 101” that focuses on several key aspects that every player must master to be successful. This book introduces fundamentals, as well as the more advanced aspects of the game. In this book, I strive to bring about a stronger culture of basketball knowledge for the beginner, average fans, and those looking to learn all that they can about the game.
I worked in the NBA Development league as a Game Day Operations intern with the Idaho Stampede from 2007 until 2011, and for the Stampede as part of the Basketball Operations staff in 2012 under Randy Livingston. During my time with the Idaho Stampede, I also took part in operations of the NBA Development league Showcase in 2008 and 2010. I have also interned under Joe Abunassar and Andrew Moore in Las Vegas, Nevada with Impact basketball for 2 summers. Furthermore, I've spent several years coaching AAU basketball.
Realizing everyone reaches their own level of greatness at different times in their lives, though it is a pre-conceive notion that all great players are found by their senior year of High School. Many players never reach their climax until their college years, or after. The thought of this is the main reason for holding the Professional Basketball Exposure Camp in hopes to assist as many players as possible reach for their dreams.
Joined Ryan Zimmerman’s coaching staff in 2012 at Treasure Valley Community College as part of a team that went from 4-22 to 13-13 with wins at #13 North Idaho College, and winning the 2012 Crossover tournament with a win against Big Bend Community College.
