More About Coach Eric

I started as a non-profit coach for a high school team in NJB. From there, I was able to branch into AAU and held a 20 and 4 record my first season. I began training athletes that same season and have continued to grow my clientele and individual training skills since. I am capable of working with any age group from 4th grade up to High School. I have hosted and ran clinics for AAU clubs and other basketball programs. I am also a certified Unified School District coach and currently hold a job as the 8th grade basketball coach at Hoover Middle School. I'm also working on forming my own individual training program known as Higher Hoops which can be found on Instagram (@higher_hoops) or on YouTube. If given the opportunity to work with your player, I would love to showcase my skills and build my experience even further.

I played 4 years of High School basketball obtaining multiple awards over the years. I was named All-Tourney (2x), First-Team all league (3x), and won MVP my senior year. I was also invited to the Senior Showcase that year to play in front of scouts alongside the best seniors from each school. Unfortunately, I experienced some challenges in college and was unable to make the time to play at the collegiate level. However, I have continued to build my own personal skill and play competitively in adult basketball leagues throughout the Bay Area. Although I didn't play collegiate basketball, I feel my knowledge gained from my high school experience as well as analyzing AAU games and practice constantly allows me to have a thorough understanding of what makes for a successful basketball player.

My training program is based solely on the individual player at hand. I shape each and every training session to help aid on a specific skill I see weaker than others. For instance, if a player's lowest skill set is his/her ball handling, I would be sure to make that a focus during the duration of our training session. While I do feel weaknesses are important to work on, I also make sure to cover the spectrum of all fundamental skills to build the players all around game. With my training sessions, I also like to incorporate drills that challenge the player in a fun way. An example could be doing a drill in a timely manner and challenging him to beat that time our next session. With my particular training regimen, not only will you as parents see results but your player will also enjoy our training sessions.
