More About Coach Emily

I have more than 15 years coaching experience. My specialties are directly related to fitness consulting, weightlifting, running, functional training, endurance, and general fitness conditioning for improved health, fitness, strength, and well-being.
I prefer working with adults of all ages with preference toward those who have 30+ pound weightloss goals, 55+ years of age or older, recently diagnosed health status, pregnant/post-partum, and those who are ready to make lasting changes to their overall health and well-being.

Fitness has been my passion since I was in elementary school and has developed over the years as I've gotten older.
Over the years I have done a lot between bodybuilding, Taekwondo, running, and triathlon. I always coached myself and successfully reached all of my goals that I set!
I have earned over 100 overall female and age group awards in 5k, 10k, half marathon, and triathlon. I also successfully completed 2 full marathons.
In the Army I set temporary post records in the Army Physical Fitness Test earning 327 out of 300 points.
As someone who gains over 50 pounds during all 3 pregnancies, I successfully lost the added weight all 3 times.
Fitness has always been and will always be my passion. I am just as passionate to help others set and achieve their fitness goals.

Every individualized plan with me will begin with a 1- hour mandatory consultation. This consultation is key to establishing the baseline of our program. We will discuss your history, your current challenges, and set some goals this very first day. Be prepared and ready to talk and be heard as well as get some immediate recommendations to starting our journey together. I recommend purchasing only this 1 session and not a package deal first so we can discuss which plan will be most suitable to your needs moving forward. Some of you will desire as-needed consulting services as others will need a more one-on-one approach meeting up to multiple times weekly. The exact plan that fits your needs will be discussed at this first session. This first session can be done over zoom if preferred.

I found Emily when I decided there was nothing else I could do on my own anymore. In the previous year I had topped out at my highest weight of 248 lbs which is gigantic on my 5'3" frame. I found out a year earlier I suffer from PCOS and was insulin resistant. Shortly after I miscarried and that is when I vowed to get things under control. Instead of giving up, I went to the internet to find a trainer. I met with a few who were a little crazy and then met the craziest of all, Emily! She sat down with me and talked about lifestyle changes and working in exercise as a daily activity just like brushing your teeth. We made a plan and got to work! I have been running competitively for more than 5 years. My ultimate goal is to qualify the Boston Marathon. Until the past three months my training consisted of running haphazardly without any plan as to time or distance. Emily's winning times at all distances have impressed me. When I learned that she creates individualized training plans, I signed up. Her plan for my marathon training has improved my strength and speed. Since the beginning off the plan I have set a PR (personal record) in the 10K of 42:00. My friend new of my diet/exercise struggles and had been training with Emily for a couple of years and raved about her. When I started the plan, Emily showed me how to correctly do the exercises to avoid injury. Throughout the plan Emily provided encouraging words that kept me motivated. At the same time she also gave me a hard time when I needed it. :) As the weight came off, I began to feel a new confidence, an athletic type of confidence that I'd never felt before. I want to do more physically, and I've developed a different mind-set about food and exercise. When I talk to Emily she encourages me even more and I want to do it all!!!!!! :)
I enjoy Emily's upbeat attitude and the way she pushes me to get the most out of every workout. It becomes more of a fun thing to do rather than something I "have" to do. I find myself smiling through a lot more than I figured I would when I first started out. She is very encouraging and never seems to focus on the negative of any given situation. She always capitalizes on any improvements and/or accomplishments. I now know that I don't have to settle for what life simply puts in front of me, I reach out with both hands and grab life by the horns now!
