More About Coach Dylan

As a former professional tennis player and NCAA Division I student-athlete, I’ve been immersed in the game at a high level for over a decade. I’ve coached across multiple settings, including several years of private and group tennis coaching. During my college years, I also served as a volunteer coach on the coaching staff at both Rice University and Elon University, often supporting matches and practices while sidelined with injury — giving me a unique perspective on player development from the coaching side.

My coaching experience includes working with nationally ranked juniors preparing for Division I college tennis, as well as adults looking to improve their game recreationally. I’ve coached players of all ages — from young kids learning fundamentals to adults in their 40s and 50s refining their technique or match play strategy.

Currently, I’m working as a tennis-specific fitness trainer for junior athletes (ages 10–17) who are aspiring to compete at the collegiate level. I take pride in building structured, high-intensity sessions that are tailored to each athlete’s goals and game style.

While I’m currently completing my NASM certification, my coaching is rooted in years of hands-on experience, elite training environments, and a passion for helping others grow on and off the court.

I’m a former New Zealand No. 1–ranked junior, four-time national singles and doubles champion, and was honored to represent my country at the Junior Davis Cup. I reached a career-high ITF junior ranking of #335 and began traveling internationally for professional tournaments as an early teenager.

I competed at both the professional and collegiate levels, playing Division I tennis at three universities. At the University of Minnesota, I played #2 and #3 singles, helping the team reach a top-15 national ranking. I later transferred to Rice University, where I played #1 singles and doubles, and then Elon University, where I helped lead the team to a CAA Conference Finals appearance.

Notable honors include being named the University of Minnesota’s Most Improved Player in 2021, winning the 2019 Minnesota Invitational, earning a full athletic scholarship across multiple Division I programs, and receiving All-Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Athlete and All-CAA Third Team Doubles recognition.

A typical session with me blends high-performance drills with strategic development and physical conditioning. We begin with a dynamic warm-up, incorporating movement patterns that enhance tennis-specific agility, balance, and explosiveness. From there, sessions are tailored to the player's goals — often focusing on stroke efficiency, court positioning, and situational drills designed to reinforce point structure and decision-making under pressure.

I emphasize tactical awareness and match-play strategy — helping players understand not just how to hit the ball, but why, when, and where. We’ll break down shot selection, opponent tendencies, and mental resilience in competitive moments. I also integrate strength and power development into the session through technically sound movement drills that translate directly to on-court performance.

Whether we’re building consistency or fine-tuning advanced patterns, the goal is always the same: to develop a complete player — mentally sharp, physically strong, and tactically confident.

Client Reviews

Coach Dylan was wonderful to work with. He is not only a very knowledgeable coach and player, but also an excellent communicator and teacher. I always learn so much with him and improve my skills significantly with each session. Excited to continue growing as a tennis player with his help. 10/10 would recommend to anyone!

Dylan is one of the best coaches I have ever had, and I saw my game improve exponentially with only a few sessions working with him. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to level up their tennis skills, especially those looking for high performance coaching.
