More About Coach Duke

I have travelled the country coaching a variety of age groups in both individual and team settings. Primarily I have worked with players high school aged and younger. For several years while playing professionally in the US I have mentored athletes to perform at the collegiate level and beyond.

I have grown up around the sport of soccer and played through my entire youth in New Jersey. I spent four years playing collegiately at the University of Pennsylvania in the Ivy League. I was the 2013 player of the year, 2014 Academic All-Ivy and a two year captain. I graduated with the fifth most points and third most games played in school history. Upon graduating college I played professionally with Indy Eleven, Orange County SC, Reno 1868, Charlotte Independence, Sacramento Republic and currently play for Colorado Switchbacks.

In a typical session I want to focus on proper technique and repetition of the fundamentals. The basic exercises are the building blocks to more advanced techniques. The pros are able to perform the basic exercises consistently at a high level. Most of the exercises are utilized in professional sessions. Primarily honing in on drills to exercise the mental as well as the physical drives player development. In general a typical session can be split into three parts: a warm up/ activation, the technical exercises, followed by a functional/ position specific activity.
