Derek K.

Derek is a Greenfield, Wisconsin native who started his player development career in 2009 after working with former Bucks Player Development Coach, Bill Peterson. Following that great learning experience, Derek joined the coaching staff of the Milwaukee Bucks’ NBA Development League team, The Fort Wayne Mad Ants, as a full-time special assistant coach. Derek worked with the Mad Ants in all basketball operations and assistant coaching duties. Derek's niche in player development helped “train up” various players from the Ants to NBA call-ups and over seas contracts. Derek continued his development training education working with Sonics’ coach, Steve Gordon in Seattle. Here Derek learned more player development and found exposure to working with several NBA players from the greater Seattle area.

Since the spring of 2013, Derek has moved back to Milwaukee where he has worked with the Milwaukee Bucks as well as the Marquette University Golden Eagles, assisting them with youth camps.

Derek is currently president of 5 Point Basketball Training and Assistant Coach at Cardinal Stritch Universtiy. Through Derek’s tireless work in player development, he has assisted hundreds of area players, teams, and programs while applying skills training and drills in basketball specific training.

Derek is USA Youth Basketball Certified.

Played JV then Varsity and later spent one year in Junior college. I then transferred to a State University school and finished my playing career there. I played the Point Guard position.
