More About Coach Deon

I am an assistant coach at Nottingham High and coached AAU basketball for 16 years. Age groups consist of grade school to professionals; male and female. I train from beginner to advanced skill level.

My clientele include Malachi Richardson (Syracuse University); Charles Cooke (Dayton University); DJ Foreman (Rutgers University); Ryan Charity (Cabrini University); Anthony McClain (professionally-Thailand); Marcus Neal (professionally-Europe) to name few.

Before becoming an assistant coach at Nottingham I also provided off season training to high school basketball teams.

I completed referee skills training. I was selected to be an assistant coach/trainer for the Breakthrough Basketball Camp. I received Coach of the Year for the Game Over basketball league.

My athletic accomplishments include three year high school varsity letterman-all conference 2nd/3rd team honors; all tournament team awards. My sophomore year I started varsity for Notre Dame high school, I average 10pts 7 assist 3 rebounds 1 stl per game in that season I was selected as honorable mention honors in the conference. My junior year I transferred to McCorristin Catholic high school and that season I was second in scoring in the Colonial Valley Conference with 22 points per game and 3rd in the Mercer County in scoring. That season I was selected 3rd team all conference honors. My senior year I averaged 18pts per game which was 3rd in scoring in the conference and 4th in the county and in that season I was selected to second team all conference.

Sessions are 1 hour. Drills consists of ball handling, shooting technique, passing, free throw shooting, basketball IQ enhancement, defensive drills and mentoring.

I focus on 1 and 2 dribble pull up jumpers; 1 and 2 basketball dribbling drills; in game situational drills (reading the pick and roll, creating space to score effectively, proper footwork techniques for defense & offense etc...)
Begin Session with warmup consisting of jump rope, stretching and jogging. After the warmup I will going into ballhandling drills. Next we transition to shooting technique drills which leads to in game situational drills, (offense & defense). Free throw shooting is done between drills and I end the workout with conditioning.

I attend clients games to evaluate players strengths, weaknesses and progress. Based on my observation I am able to formulate a plan that is geared towards players needs.

We thank you for all the time and encouragement that you have given Charles Cooke. The blessing is that you are still mentoring him and I really do appreciate it. We truly see your family as our family. Thanks for all that you do!
