September 1, 2016   I am pleased to write this letter of recommendation on behalf of DeMarcus Minor who is interested in a coaching/teaching position. As the Executive Director of the “B” Association, Baylor University’s official letterwinners organization, I have had the good fortune of getting to know many of the university’s former athletes.  DeMarcus, a former standout basketball player, class of 2001, is one of those former players I got to know and have followed through the years. After a 4-year career in professional basketball, DeMarcus returned to Texas and immediately began pursuing his passion of coaching/mentoring young people.  Although he works fulltime as a professional social worker, he spends much of his spare time assisting with Hoops Can Assist Autism, a basketball school he founded for Autistic children. DeMarcus has been a tremendous coach and mentor to scores of young people, as well as a loving husband and father.  Just recently, Baylor University honored him as a Basketball Legend, an award given to athletic alumni who have continued to make positive contributions to their respective communities. DeMarcus has a strong work ethic and he is highly intelligent. Based on my knowledge and experience with him, I believe he would be a valuable asset to your school.
