More About Coach Debby

I have over 30 years in the fitness industry, from training professional athletes and celebrities, to the average moms and dads who are looking to get into the best shape while optimizing their time. I will train you in your home, or outdoors. I work with all age groups. I am certified by the American College of Sports Medicine, and have certifications in Muscle Activation Lower Body, Pilates, Reebok Core, and Post Rehab Conditioning. I have completed the Wellcoaches Wellness CoachTraining Program. I am also a nutritional coach, certified in Sports Nutrition, and can also provide you nutritional coaching for fat loss as well as athletic performance.

I have been a competitive athlete since my childhood. I competed on the Collegiate National level in Tae Kwando at the University of Michigan. I have also competed in Triathlons, Swimming, Trail running, bodybuilding and fitness competitions, and continue to train regularly in all areas. I was a Powerbar Team Elite Member and Fitness Ambassador from 1999-2012. I was also the host of my own TV fitness segment on ABC 7 News, SF from 1999-2004, which I wrote and co-produced. I have extensive pre and post op experience with hip and shoulder surgery.

Our first session will be a client assessment where we will discuss your goals. I will also take you through some basic movement drills to asses strength and weaknesses. From this assessment we will develop your plan based on your overall health, wellness and fitness goals.

Each session will start with a progressive warm up based on that particular days body workout. This will be the time to get your mind connected to your body and the muscles we will be working. We will then move into the main body of the workout with strength training. Depending on your program goals we will often include a variation of metabolic conditioning. We will end each session with some metabolic finishers, some core, and some stretching/yoga/pilates based cool down.

Client Reviews

It has been a pleasure to work with Debby K as my nutrition and fitness coach and I learned more from my time with her than I have in 20 years in the fitness industry myself! I will be back to coaching at some time in the near future and I encourage anyone interested in it to give it a shot! It was most certainly worth the price and the knowledge she shared with me is now enabling me to try it on myself. That, too, was the result of Debby’s guidance since she helped me put an “exit plan” into place for these next few weeks or months utilizing what we discovered about my body. This coaching service was an absolute pleasure, success and positive experience for me. J, from Napa, CA
In addition to nutritional coaching, Debby also helped me with programming my training. I used to do this super random workout that you can always find on the internet. You know, those random bodyweight workouts with lots of jumping and doing unnecessary moves and not teaching any fundamentals behind each move. She teaches me how to design a workout program that will suit my needs, and in order to do that I need to know what my goal is, which she helps me to define. She also critiques my workout videos, which I occasionally send to her to assess my form, and then gives me cues so that next time I know how to do certain moves using the right muscles. And this is all done through internet coaching. The main thing is, you need to give as much detail to her as possible so she can personalize the diet and training to fit your needs, and you NEED to really follow her guidance as close as possible. Feel free to tell her about your lifestyle as well. The more she knows you the better she can guide you. I haven’t met Debby in person, and I’ve only been communicating with her through emails and phone, but I’ve learned so much regarding fitness and nutrition that I’ve never had before. I could tell she really knows her science regarding nutrition, why my body reacts a certain way, how certain hormones affect me, and much more! Overall, Debby is a great coach that will help you reach your fitness goal, one step closer everyday. She’s very passionate about fitness and nutrition and knows her stuff inside out. I highly recommend her to coach you, especially if you are in Bay Area.
