More About Coach David

I am a current assistant coach at Manhattan College, working with infielders and outfielders. I am a recent graduate of Columbia University where I played under Coach Brett Boretti. I worked under Coach Boretti during numerous Columbia Recruiting Camps. I have spent time on the baseball staff at Claremont McKenna College (D3), Middlebury College (D3), and Dartmouth College (D1).

I am a former Division 1 baseball player at Columbia University where I started at third base for three years. We won the Ivy League Championship for those three years which turned into three straight NCAA Tournament appearances. One of those appearances was against Cal State Fullerton, where I hit a home run in our opening game.

-Two time First Team All-Ivy League Selection

I will work with hitters on their hands and swing path, throw batting practice and front toss and tee work. Also will hit fungos to work on infield drills. Each session will depend mostly on what the athlete wants to work on.

Client Reviews

Good drill coach to simplify hitting mechanics. May be better suited for late teen and up players. I took my 7 yr old and the communication was good, but not perfect. Coach David named some players that my son was too young to know (e.g. B. Bonds towel drill). I only signed up for one session so there could have been some better communication as we went along. Overall, a great drill to mechanics hitting coach. My son looked more "solid" at the plate at his next game immediately after the lesson.

Great job and really explained things well for kids and parents. He definitely gave a different angle and terminology to help our kids pitching.

I will truly miss Coach David, I wish there was a way to adopt him as an out-of-state mom. Seriously, Coach David found Christian's weakness which was batting and positioning himself at the plate to hit pitched balls. Christian was to play for a baseball league this spring but backed out because he felt he did not get enough practice and needed a lot of help with his techniques. Of course as a grandmother and avid baseball fan I thought the Coach Up sessions would improve his confidence. Unfortunately, Christian declined to play before the sessions with Coach David. I believe as Christian gets older his competition gets tougher, hence he does not want to feel inferior to the older young boys. Christian, an 8th grader will be entering high school next year and wants to play then, but I know the competition will be tougher to get selected for his school.

Christian is experiencing many self doubts and had lost some of his compassion for baseball, which his mother and father feel that more practice will get him inspired again. Coach David seemed as a godsend because Christian was once again trying to improve his hitting. Christian did look forward to Coach David's sessions and respected his advice like a family mentor, which was rare. Our family wished we could afford more sessions with Coach David and thought hopefully in the future.

Coach David was a splendid coach that Christian's family felt was our hope to get him back into baseball and regain his confidence. Finances are a scarce reality but would enjoy very much if Coach David can continue more steady sessions in the future. Coach David is a young talented role model, who not only showed Christian how to keep his eye on the ball, a proper stance at the plate, how to hit various type of pitches but to respect the game more aggressively . The sessions were well worth the improvements to Christian's hitting but brought back some of his confidence and the appreciation to the game of baseball. Christian's pride possession is the bat Coach David gave him, Christian's family are extremely grateful to Coach David.

Very good coach, great with kids! After just 30min. I can already see an improvement in my sons batting. Coach David is teaching him techniques & doing different drills to improve his swing. Would definitely recommend to other players

After one session I saw improvement in my son. I look forward to our next session.

Coach David was "awesome" per my son! This was his first session with coach David & he really felt connected. He can't wait till his next session. He's excited to learn from Coach David. Thank you!!!

My son had his first session with Coach David today. He came home very excited about what David had taught him. David was patient and gave lots of praise while giving him practical tips and strategies to better his batting and fielding. My son is very much looking forward to his next session with Coach David!

The time I am spending with Coach David is awesome. We start out by talking about our goal as a hitter and the mental side of hitting. He tries to have you eliminate thoughts while focusing into seeing the baseball and let your eyes determine whether you want to hit that pitch or not. He has drills that simply make you not think about your mechanics but rather think about getting into rhythm and being on time and allowing your swing to maximize its potential to square a ball up. He has a lot of energy and you can really tell he loves baseball and is trying his best to teach people like me to love it as much as he does. I like what he's teaching and I hope that working with him more will help me grow as a baseball player.

I played with Dave at Columbia for four years and his passion for the game definitely rubbed off on me. He has great knowledge for the game, both hitting and fielding. As a current college coach, I am confident in his ability to teach baseball at any level.
