David Ray-Campoy

Originally from Barcelona, Spain, I developed as a player within the FC Barcelona youth system, as well as with other competitive clubs in Spain including CE Europa, EF Gavà, and Atlètic Sant Just. I later moved to the United States, where I continued my playing career at the NCAA Division I and Division II levels, representing UMKC, Seattle University, and Rockhurst University, as well as competing in USL League Two.

I hold a UEFA C coaching license and have coached at the youth, high school, collegiate, and individual development levels. My experience includes FC Barcelona USA Camps, Sporting City, Brookside Soccer Club, Rockhurst University, and serving as Founder and Technical Director of BCN Fútbol Academy.

My coaching combines the methodology and technical foundation I developed in Barcelona with my experience competing and coaching in the U.S. soccer system. I focus on technical quality, creativity, decision-making, confidence, and most importantly, helping players transfer what they learn in training into the game.

- Played three years at FC Barcelona Academy, one of the world’s top youth academies.
- Developed in Spain’s competitive system until age 18, playing for: Atletic Sant Just (FC Barcelona affiliate), EF Gavà (Villarreal affiliate) and CE Europa (first team in Spain’s 4th division)
- Played NCAA Division 1 soccer at UMKC and Seattle University, later competing at Rockhurst University (D2).
- Competed in USL League 2 with Kaw Valley FC, formerly Sporting Kansas City’s third team.

My coaching style is player-centered, creative, and game-realistic, combining the technical and tactical principles I developed in Barcelona with my experience in the U.S., emphasizing decision-making, confidence, game understanding, and purposeful repetition so players learn not just how to execute a skill, but when and why to use it.
