More About Coach Darrion

I began coaching AAU basketball immediately after I graduated high school. I have been an assistant for 7th and 8th grade top level teams. In addition to middle school youth I have worked in high school development camps, and I have also signed on recently to coach varsity level High School basketball.

I have received collegiate athletic and academic all-region honors. In high school I was all-conference at the Varsity level for 3 years, along with all-metro in my senior season. I also lead my team to a conference championship as a three year captain. I finished my senior season averaging 23 ppg along with 7 rebounds and 4 assists.

A typical session will consist of high paced intense development in your area of choice. I go through every single drill with the athlete myself which provides me with a hands-on experience that not many coaches can provide.

Best coach I’ve Ever Trained with

My 10 year old son just had his first basketball session with Coach Darrion Scott. It is obvious that he knows the game inside and out. My son was very receptive to Coach Scott’s tough method of coaching, where if you don’t get it right, he works with you until you do get it right. He was very encouraging and motivating. He taught my son to use the proper footwork in drills and pay attention to the little details that if done right, it will be tough for a defender to match up. My son said on the way home he can’t wait for his next session with Coach Scott.

Coach Darrion is great. The boys are responding and learning. They are practicing what coach Darrion tells them. There confidence and impact in there games is improving. He has a great mannerism with the kids.

Coach Darrion is great with our daughter. He is patient and fun, but really pushes her to challenge herself and practice the skills they are working on. She really looks forward to her sessions with him. Highly recommend him to anyone!

Coach Darrion you can tell he really cares and goes out of his way to be helpful. Would definitely recommend Coach Darrion

Coach Darrion is a very knowledgeable and effective communicator. He listens well and adjusts well to his clients' interests and needs. His highly regarded and highly recommended. Dennis

My son really enjoys working with coach Darrion. He teaches skills that are not taught during a team basketball practice. My son's school coach has made comments to him like "when did you learn to do that skill?" He has been able to play more positions since working with coach Darrion and shoot way more accurately.
Thanks coach Darrion!

Coach Darrion is the best! He has a very professional demeanor yet can also relate to my daughter with his easy-going jovial personality. His skills and knowledge about the game of basketball are very apparent and we feel very blessed to have Darrion working with our daughter.

Great communicator, good with kids, explains things well.

Looking forward to starting a regular training schedule with Coach Darrion. My son, who is lacking in confidence with his game at the moment, responded well to his techniques our first session- Darrion was a positive influence who knows how to teach the skills without 'coming down' on the kid. He listened to our concerns and made a point to notice what my son was good at. That evening I even got asked 'Tell me the good things that Coach Darrion said about me'. We look forward to our future sessions to see his confidence and skills continue to grow with Darrion's guidance.

Coach Darrion was great! He made instant progress with my son on his dribbling and he made it fun as well. He is very knowledgeable and ready to teach. We will definitely be booking more sessions!

My daughter looks forward to her training sessions! She is learning so much more with Coach Darrion than other trainers we have tried. She is definitely improving her game.

He was very knowledgeable and I feel like I gained a lot in the hour that we met. Would highly recommend!

Darrion has done a great job working with my 14 year old son. He's taught him things that many coaches haven't taken the time to do. He's great with communication and showing him how to do things. He keeps things positive and fun. I've been very impressed with what I've seen so far, and look forward to the sessions ahead and the continued growth of my son in basketball. Thanks Darrion.

Coach Darrion was a great coach. He was positive, motivating and caught things even my son's coach had missed. We saw improvements after the first session and will be signing up for more!

Darrion is very good with footwork. He makes it fun, while also making you a better player. I really enjoy working with him and I feel I am learning a lot.

In 1 hour we saw improvement in ours sons skill and his confidence!

Didn't really know what to expect from the first session but I have to say we were very pleased with the amount of help provided in just session. Coach Darrion was very pleasant, easy to communicate with and the court was private and no interruptions throughout the session. Looking forward to all the rest of the sessions

Coach Darrion is a great coach for my 15-yr old son. Having an individual coach focusing on individual position play is perfect for us, now that most team practices are focusing on team play. My son's points doubled and shooting percentage went to 80%+.

Thank you for the Great 1st session!! We look forward to the next 5!!

Great start to the program

Great job working with my 10 year old daughter.

Coach Darrion has done a great job with me and I'm very happy with my results this far and it's only been 3 weeks.

Coach Darrion is fantastic!! My daughter's game has improved so much after working with him and she can't wait to work with him again!!

My 6 year old son enjoyed working with Darrion. Together they worked on defense, dribbling, shooting/layups and his game face!! My son is excited to go back to the next session of training! Thank you Coach Darrion!

o the varsity game and North top player Jaylin Dubose picks up 2 quick fouls and sits the last 14:38 of the half. Low scoring and even early. Thanks to a triplicate of 3s, 13-8 North at the 9:17 mark. Then FAIR goes to a 1-3-1 and North never did find an answer. A 14-2 run culimating with Darrion Scott converting a turnover into a layup puts FAIR up 22-15 at the 4:25 mark. That bucket would start a run of 10 straight points for Scott to end the half. A late North 3 would keep them within 30-24 at halftime. Scott comes out with the 1st 5 Falcons points of the second half for a total of 15 in a row. His 3 point play to end that personal spurt sends Dubose right back to the bench with his 3rd foul. 35-26 FAIR with 16:32 to play. Lee Gaines would score back to back buckets to cut the lead to 7 before a 9-0 FAIR run pushes the lead to 16. Dubose comes back in with 12:33 left just before John Warren ends the run off a double screen for a triple from the left corner. Dubose makes a difference with a great block hustling back after a turnover and North hustles to track down the loose ball. Out of a timeout, Dubose converts the effort into a 3. He follows up with a steal for a free throw and an assist to Corey Jones. Lead is cut to 10 and North switches from 2-3 to 3-2 zone and extends it to good effect. Jones with a putback with 5:35 to cut the lead to 46-39. That's a 9-2 North run. Interestingly enough Dubose comes out with 5:03 left with North down 9and didn't return (don't think he fouled out). Desmond Williams controls the paint down the stretch for FAIR with back to back layups and a pair of trips to the line (1-4 FTs though). FAIR wins 54-45. Post Game For North, post Corey Jones leads the way with 14 points. Lee Gaines 13 points. Jaylin Dubose held to 6 with the foul trouble. North was a very different team when he was on the floor. He showed a real burst with the ball that FAIR didn't have a match for. Add in the hustle and a full game from him would have been a difference. North is off until next Friday when they travel to St. Paul Johnson. For FAIR, Darrion Scott leads the way with 22 points on 9-24 shooting as his shot wasn't falling in the 2nd half. But he's still their difference maker. Desmond Williams very effective inside as he reached double figures with 12 or 13 points. A definite presence for the Falcons down lown. Akil England 15 points. The 1-3-1 for the Falcons was the difference in the game as it generated offense.
