More About Coach Darien
My coaching experience started in the fall 2022 when I coached middle and high schoolers for the Top Gun Fighting Clams. I was able to leverage that into a assistant coaching job at American International College out in Springfield, MA starting summer of '24. I'm based in the Waltham/Watertown/Newton areas but am willing to travel. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.
I played at 3 different high schools while growing up; Newton North, Rivers, and Trinity Pawling. At Rivers and Trinity Pawling, nearly every player on those teams were committed to a DI or DIII program. I also had the honor of representing team New England at the Under Armour Underclassmen games in 2013 along with many showcase and tournament all-star nominations as well. I was originally committed to Bucknell University, but due to an injury I ended up finishing my career at Umass Boston.
The session plan depends on the position. Start up with a basic warm up (stretch and identify where the kid believes they need work), move to stick work, then positional footwork. Depending on the position, I'd move towards dodging for offensive players or perfect approaches for defensive players.

Great Coach really helped me hone my skills. Highly recommend!
Devin (CoachUp client)
Great to work with. My 9 year old son was noticeably more confident in using both hands to throw, make a move, and shoot with power to all the corners. Highly recommend.
