More About Coach Darence

Darence is a NCSF Certified Strength Coach and Personal Trainer who has been training athletes and helping individuals reach their fitness goals for the past five years. He's had the opportunity to work with athletes in a wide-range of sports, including; gymnastics, rugby, basketball, football, baseball and marathon running. Additionally, Darence was the Varsity football coach and Assistant Strength & Conditioning coach at a nearby high school.

Darence has been a life-long sports enthusiast, since the age of 8 he's participated in basketball, baseball and football programs.
He was a three-sport athlete in high school, playing rugby and football as well as running track.

Sessions will take place at The Academy Training & Performance Center, a specialized performance based facility in downtown Sacramento. The facility provides over 10,000 square feet which includes 50 yards of turf, 8 olympic lifting platforms, Free-Motion cable stations, rowers, assault bikes, and much more. Clients should expect to be on the turf for various speed and agility workouts to in.

Individuals can choose a session duration that best fits their needs. All sessions begin with myofascial release, general warm-up and dynamic warm-up, followed by sports specific movements, etc. For athletes looking to increase power and explosion a work-out may include Olympic Lifting and Ballistic Exercises. For those training to increase strength, Darence will lead clients through Compound Lifts and Contrast Sets emphasizing force production. Individuals looking for personal training to help with weight loss, bodybuilding, body toning or obstacle course racing will go through a variety of exercises pertaining to their specific goals, i.e. circuit training, drop set and super set training.
