Dan Runzler

I served as the SugarLand Skeeters pitching coach in 2019. It is an independent team in the Atlantic League. I was also called upon to manage 10 of the games. I played for great major league managers and coaches including Bruce Bochy, Dave Righetti and Andy Barkett to name a few. I trained with elite strength coaches and worked with trainers with 6 great organizations. I can work with players of all ages.

I am a left handed pitcher who played professional baseball for 13 seasons with 6 different teams including the San Francisco Giants, Arizona Diamondbacks, Minnesota Twins, Pittsburgh Pirates, Tampa Bay Rays, and the Boston Red Sox. I am a two time World Series Champion in 2010 and 2012 with the San Francisco Giants. I was a minor league all star in 2009 and 2019. In 2009 I was named the minor league reliever of the year for the entire minor leagues.

I want to teach the entire aspect of pitching. Starting with the fundamentals of balance, using your lower half, and finding a release point that is repeatable and will contribute to consistency. By simplifying mechanics you can find it easier to repeat a delivery. After that we can work on pitch design with different pitch grips to expand the pitchers arsenal. I also have exercises and with bands for strengthening arms while maintaining health. Lastly, I want to dive into brief points of the mental side of pitching which, in my opinion, is the most important aspect in a complete pitcher.
