More About Coach Daniel
Currently I am an assistant coach at St. Anthony H.S. in Jersey City N.J. I work with multiple high major potential Division 1 athletes and am mentored by Basketball Hall of Fame Coach Bob Hurley Sr. Prior to this, I coached girls' basketball at Ledyard High School and AAU basketball for the Connecticut Storm. I have worked with elementary school players all the way to post collegiate players. I have helped players set school multiple school records and receive college athletic scholarships. Whether your athlete wants to make the middle school team or play at the highest level possible I will work with you.
I played three years of high school varsity basketball in Yonkers, NY and two years of collegiate basketball at UCONN-AP. I was a captain of my high school team for two years.
A client can expect to work hard, improve their skills and have fun! I can work with players ranging from point guards to centers but like to tell players "be a player not a position." It is important to continue to build upon a players strengths but also improve weaknesses to ensure a more well rounded and versatile athlete. Each player is unique, so each session will be tailored to a specific players needs. In general, sessions are based on John Wooden's 4 laws of learning-explanation, demonstration, imitation, and repetition. Drills serve a specific purpose that is relevant to the game of basketball and are chosen for effectiveness, not aesthetics. Each session will focus on the fundamentals of shooting, dribbling, passing, pivoting, offensive moves, conditioning, and understanding game situations.
