More About Coach Dj
I'm currently a youth football coach for the Pearland Hurricanes in Pearland Texas right outside of Houston. I'm coaching 9 and 10 year olds on the football field and using my college football and Louisville track experience to help them develop.
If you're a track sprinter, I have connections with Division 1 coaches who can give detailed feedback on your mechanics. And for football players, I can tap into my network of NFL coaches, college recruiters, and even NFL front office personnel to review your highlight film and offer valuable scouting insight as you prepare for the next level.
I played football in Junior college from 2013-2015 and ran track from 2015-2016 with a PR of 10.4. I got a D1 scholarship to the University of Louisville in the 100 meters and ran for a year and a half before suffering a career-ending injury with my shins. Now I work for ESPN and cover the Texans so I'm around NFL personnel and I've learned a lot of football through them.

Our training is built to help young athletes become faster, more explosive, and more confident in their movements. We'll use fun and effective speed drills that include sprint work with parachutes, light sleds, weight vests, resistance bands, and more. We’ll also focus on perfecting running form and building power through plyometrics and hill sprints when possible—all designed to help you run faster and move better on the field or track.
To boost agility and quickness, we’ll work with cones and ladders to improve footwork, coordination, and lateral speed—skills that translate directly to better performance in football, soccer, basketball, track, and more.
We’ll also use a GPS tracking device on Day 1 to measure your speed, so you can see your progress week after week. I’ll film certain drills and training sessions and send them to you, so you can watch yourself, study your form, and track your improvement
As a former sprinter at the University of Louisville and a current ESPN reporter, I bring a unique mix of athletic experience and professional insight. I understand what it takes to perform at a high level—and I’m here to help you get there.

Brianna Green a D2 national champion hurdler in track and field for Fresno Pacific University (Testimonial)
When it came to track, DJ was always honest and direct—something I’ve come to value deeply. His tough love helped me develop thicker skin and a grounded, realistic mindset. He never let me stay discouraged and always reminded me that being realistic doesn't mean giving up. I met DJ in 2021, running a 61-second 400m at the start of my JUCO career. He worked with me for a few months on speed and form, and even after I returned to my JUCO, the foundation he gave me stuck. My times dropped not just from training, but because DJ believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. When it came time to transfer, his opinion meant everything. He encouraged me to attend Fresno Pacific University—not just to grow as an athlete, but to grow in my faith. That decision changed my life. DJ became more than a coach—he became a mentor and steady presence. He helped me navigate academic struggles, self-doubt, and tough times on and off the track. He challenged me to raise my standards and chase my purpose. Because of him, I found my calling in psychology. Becoming a D2 national champion didn’t come easy—it took battling through mental lows and moments of feeling lost. When I met DJ, I didn’t see my worth and had no clear direction. Coming from a tough home life, I was used to carrying things alone—until DJ stepped in. Through every high and low at FPU, DJ never left my side. His support got me through some of the hardest times of my life. DJ is rare. His honesty makes you grow. His belief in you pushes you to be better. He sees greatness in people before they see it in themselves. He taught me how to compete, how to give myself grace, and most importantly, how to never give up. He’s not just a great trainer—he’s a life-changer. He’s one of the reasons I’m a national champion, and I’ll always be grateful.
