I have coaching youth tennis since 2003. My coaching is based on the philosophy I learned from professional tennis instructor, Sam Kennedy. He hired me to coach and train the youth of the South Atlanta Community Tennis Association. Currently, I am training a team of six players to play in their first 10 and under team tennis league.
My passions are sports and children of all ages, particularly the 10 and under group. I connect well with this age group. I specialize in agility, footwork, stroke work, mental and emotional development, and most importantly FUN!
A typical training session follows this structure: 1. Session objective; 2. Warm-up activities; 3. Review of previous session; 4. New skill (or skill from previous session) is developed; 5. Game play; 6. Cool down; 7. Homework assignment. Two of the main aspects of tennis that I focus on is watching the ball and form. I specialize in developing the confidence and positive self-esteem of my players through tennis.
