More About Coach Curtis

I have been training military service members, high school athletes, and many athletes from all walks of life looking to better themselves. I have trained people in Afghanistan and currently own CrossFit Axon in Charlotte NC. Ages have ranged from 14-57. I am a CrossFit Level 1 and Level 2 Trainer, a USAW Sports Performance Coach, and I have completed the CrossFit Powerlifting Course.

The majority of my time as an athlete has been military based. I have completed 3 tours in high threat environment in the US Marine Corps in the Infantry. Staying in shape and healthy was absolutely essential to my life.

Writing a program is based on each individual's clients goals. A session would normally include a 6 minute warm up, some mobility, with a primary strength component, an accessory strength component, then followed by metabolic conditioning ranging from 20 seconds of extremely high intesity to 20 minutes of steady aerobic work.

Curtis was able to create a great program for me to work on my Olympic Weightlifting, to compliment CrossFit. From the beginning, I was amazed at how much I didn't know about how my body worked. Discovering mobility issues that I had was a more than a little frustrating, but Curtis providing instruction on overcoming the issues was very empowering. In a period of a couple months, my form greatly improved, my confidence with the weight grew, and my strength increased rapidly. Muscle tone was visible. But even better, all the mobility issues that I dealt with and the increase in my strength has poured over into my daily life, because I can lift more, carry more and stand longer with greater ease.
