More About Coach Cristian

During my time attending Oregon State University from 2020 to 2024 studying Exercise Science & Kinesiology, I worked closely with the DIVISION ONE program, its players and staff to provide the local community a strong recognition for development and recruitment to the Mens and Womens programs through the local club Oregon Valley Futbol Alliance (OVFA). During my time at OVFA, I served as the clubs' Pre competitive Director from 2021 to July 2025 and was the Head and Assistant Coach of the 2009 Boys’ Team, ranked 4th in the state of Oregon. I led the team to victory in the Nike Beaverton Cup and secured wins over competitive opponents, including Idaho Olympic Development Program.
Developed and implemented a comprehensive annual plan to support player development, staff coordination, and program growth. Led planning and execution of “U10 Pre-Competitive Game Days,” coordinating with families, coaches, club directors, and external soccer organizations; each event spanned 12 hours per day across four Saturdays per season (Spring, Summer, Fall). Managed registration for all U10 players entering the club, serving as the primary point of contact for new families. Recruited, trained,
and mentored coaching staff within the Precompetitive program, ensuring alignment with curriculum and
club values. Oversaw weekly training sessions by designing age-appropriate curricula aligned with long-
term developmental goals. Directed player evaluation, selection, and placement across all age groups,
supporting progression through the club pathway. Ensured compliance with safety protocols and
governing bodies including OYSA, OSHA, and USSF. Coached boys’ and girls’ teams across all competitive
ages from U11 to U18, developing and implementing a periodized annual plan focused on maximizing
player enjoyment, technical and tactical development, and long-term learning.
Focused on creating a safe, engaging, and player-centered environment for children aged 1.5 to 8 years,
fostering cognitive development, enhancing locomotor skills, teaching soccer fundamentals, and building
self-confidence through dynamic games and activities. Utilized advanced technology to capture
quantitative data during each training session, integrating interactive exercises that kept players engaged
and informed their progress.
Designed and delivered weekly training plans aligned with an annually periodized curriculum for a co-ed,
non-profit soccer program serving players aged 18 months to 17 years. Conducted regular staff meetings
to promote consistency in methodology, technical development, and the program’s style of play and
coaching philosophy. Each session was structured to be engaging and developmentally appropriate, with
topics flowing progressively from day to day. Led Academy soccer for players ages 5–9 on Saturday mornings, emphasizing fun, learning, and positive reinforcement to build self-confidence and encourage skill development in a supportive, fear-free environment.
Former player of Contra Costa College and Sacramento Gold FC. Competing in the CCCAA and NPSL, respectively. I played as a wingback during all years playing and could be moved to the front three when needed. Because of this, I have a deep understanding of all phases of play.
When I run a personal training session, my focus is on giving players detailed, individualized work that directly improves their game. I start with a dynamic warm-up that blends movement prep and ball work to get both body and mind activated. From there, I emphasize high-repetition technical training — things like first touch, passing, dribbling, and finishing — always with an eye on quality and execution under pressure.
I design drills that are realistic to game situations, so players aren’t just repeating motions but learning how to apply their skills in context. I also integrate decision-making challenges, whether through guided constraints or small-sided exercises, to push players to think quickly and develop their awareness.
Every session ends with a competitive component — finishing circuits, 1v1s, or scenario-based play — so players leave feeling both challenged and confident. My goal is to make each player sharper, smarter, and more prepared to translate their training directly into game-day performance.

Young Don (CoachUp client)
Coach Cristian was a great ! He started with the basic foundation for my son and gave him very solid training how to control the ball, passing, dribbling, and how to move with the ball on the field. His feedback helped to improve the skills and to move on the next steps for training.
Gabriel - 2014 now playing with 2012 age group (Testimonial)
Coach Cristian has helped me reach my athletic goal of playing in an older age group. Coach Cristian has helped me grow in self-confidence, technical skill, and situational awareness on the field.
