More About Coach Connor

I have been coaching and training kids for over 7 years part time. I worked at the Excel basketball camp which is one of the best camps in the country and also did group and individual trainings on the side. In the last year I have committed to training full time. I currently am the Head JV coach at Harvard Westlake in Studio City and also help out with the West Coast Elite basketball program (coached 13U and 15U). I have worked with kids and players of all ages. From 6years old, up to the NBA. I was fortunate and blessed to work with Pure Sweat basketball this year and be mentored by the best trainer in the industry, Drew Hanlen. I have worked with over 30 NBA players- (Jayson Tatum, Joel Embid, Zach Lavine, Kelly Oubre Jr., Bradly Beal, Gordon Hayward, Meyers Leonard, KCP and Markelle Fultz to name a few). I love working with all players. Whether you are just learning the game or an NBA player I take the same preparation in my training to deliver to you the best possible workout to develop your skills and get in game results. I have my gold standard coaching license by USA basketball.

I have played basketball since I was 4 years old. I played it all through high school and college as well. Some of my biggest athletic accomplishments were being the MVP of my high school team- a 3 year team captain and winning two league championships and scoring 16ppg, which is no small task. In addition, I went on to play junior college ball at DVC, where I got my name retired in the program hall of fame. I won the coach’s award two years in a row, most prestigious basketball award at the school, as well as being team captain for both my years there. I went on to play division 1 basketball at Loyola Marymount University (LA) under head coach Mike Dunlap. I finished up my career doing a 5th year at a division 2 power house in Georgia, called the Unviersity of West Georgia, where I played and got my MBA.

When my players work with me, what they can expect is getting some of the best training on the west coast. Being mentored by and the under study to Drew Hanlen, a lot of my workouts are like his. They are different versions of his workouts just at a fourth of the price. I pride myself on being very detail oriented and breaking down players mistakes via film. I film a lot of my sessions so that I can play back and show players where they are making their mistakes so that they can correct it. In addition, I have become a shooting guru. Teaching younger players how to shoot the ball with proper mechanics has been my specialty for a long time now. I learned how to properly shoot the ball at a young age and have been on a quest to learn more and teach kids the Art of Shooting. I first start all my kids off with building and mastering their own shot. Every player is different and every shot is different but I have 4 key principles that I believe all shots should have. After I have locked in my players shot, we start working on the fundamentals. Finishing, ball handling, one on one moves, and creating space to get your shot off. I wait to do all of these things after I lock in a players shot because there is no point for me to teach you how to do a move if you CANT finish it by knocking in the shot. My sessions run about 60-75 minutes long for individual sessions. And group sessions run for 1.5 hours.

Thank you coach

Highly recommend Coach Connor. We’ve been working with him for over a year now and he’s done wonders for my kids. He really knows the game, grinds on the fundamentals, and challenges kids to elevate their skills at each session!

Conner is a fantastic coach. Very well organized and knowledgeable about the best training methods.
