More About Coach Connor

As a former athlete, it didn't take me long to understand the importance of mental skills in sport. I train athletes, coaches, and parents in improving self-talk, visualization, goal-setting, mindfulness, anxiety regulation, entering flow state and growth mindset.

I am a mental performance consultant (master's from BU, c/o 2018) who performs mental performance work with individuals, doing counseling sessions, and in teams, facilitating workshops. I have worked with collegiate basketball, soccer, golf and lacrosse players and teams.

I have accrued 300 hours of mental performance consulting.

I will receive my certification in mental performance consulting from the Applied Association of Sport Psychology (AASP), the most rigorous governing body in mental performance.

I will also gain my licensure in mental health counseling (LMHC).

I have an undergraduate degree in psychology from Loyola Marymount University.

I work with students on their mental performance for standardized testing, such as the SAT and GRE.

I am a soccer and basketball coach.

As a mental performance coach, I have worked with a broad range of sports. I've worked with collegiate basketball, soccer, lacrosse and golf teams, both on team and individual bases.

I played highly competitive soccer growing up, playing for a nationally ranked team. Our team was never the most talented, but our bond was extremely strong, allowing us to overachieve consistently on the field.
I played basketball through high school.
Now, I play adult leagues, winning championships and having a great time along the way.
I'm a high level skier, when I have time.

I can offer both individual sessions and team workshops. In both instances, we can work on mental skills, such as harnessing anxiety, visualizing quality performance, owning your breathing, letting go of mistakes, improving your self-talk, using mindfulness, adding leadership traits, and getting along with difficult teammates.

The session will be tailored to the needs of the client. Let me know what you'd like to work on, what you're struggling with, and I'll follow your desires along with my own impressions. We'll work on the mental skills you need help with.

I can conduct online sessions or meet around the greater Boston area.

My son enjoyed lessons with Connor

Connor was great!! He was able to see my 14yo daughter waiting for the ball so he worked on being more aggressive with her first touch. My daughter was feeling pretty rusty after her ACL rehab. Our session with Connor really helped.

Coach Connor did a Great job getting to know/working with my son Jack! Jack felt very comfortable w/Connor and was very happy to know that many other athletes have similar confidence/anxiety issues on the floor that he has. Jack played his best game of the season 2 days after his session w/Coach Connor. He seriously has more confidence right now than he's had at anytime during his b-ball career!

Connor was fantastic to work with in our basketball session, he brought a really organized approach to our session which was great because we wanted to cover a lot to get started. Very clear at giving instruction, recognizing strengths and weaknesses and also a great listener when I had a question or needed something clarified. Looking forward to working with him again to improve my game!

Connor was great. Lots of enthusiasm for the sport of soccer and also he knew how to talk to our 13 yr old daughter so that she felt comfortable and motivated. She looks forward to working with him again.

Coach Connor- is Fantastic! My 14yr old daughter had one session with him and felt like she gained a lot from him. He gave some excellent drills to work on at home to increase technically and was able to help her with defensive strategies she has struggled with. She soo wishes we wouldn't have waited so long to sign up and is very sad he has moved away from the area. She currently is on a premier select team yet gained a lot from the 1-1 coach session to key on her specific areas of concerns. Connor is excellent on doing just that. She walked away from that one session excited feeling like she improved her personal skills in gaining knowledge on strategies. Thank you!! If ever back to the west coast let us know we wouldn't hesitate to book sessions.

Conner was great. Kayla was comfortable with him and he helped her work on things she felt she needed help on.

Coach Connor was great. He met us in the rain at Boston University's soccer field and we ran foot speed/ quick decision drills. These drills were perfect for in the rain.
Great positive attitude. Went to only one session because it was at the end of the season, but will be going back for more this spring.

My daughter really enjoyed her time with Coach Connor. She was a beginner and he was very patient with her. We are very happy with the service!

Connor did a great job of reviewing my sons playing ability and providing direct guidance and training in the areas it was needed most. Great job! Already scheduled my sons next session.

My son has only had a few visits with coach Connor, but he has been consistently on time, thorough, and prepared. I was very impressed on our first session to arrive and find he had everything organized so that they were able to jump right into training. Connor is personable and related well to my son, which is important with a 14 yr-old. Thank you Connor.

I first heard about Connor from a friend, whose son is on the Overlake team coached by Connor. My son Chong had a great time working with Connor and he absolutely lived up to expectations! He performed a skills evaluation to determine Chong's strengths and weaknesses, and began working on the weaknesses immediately. He taught Chong how to head the ball properly and how to time a tackle, and showed him videos of professional players defending. Thanks Connor, we'll book again soon!
