Coley C.

My name is Coley Crank and I am a 23 year old professional baseball player and coach. I went to Pinole Valley High School where I was selected in the 2008 MLB draft by the Oakland Athletics. I turned down the offer to play professionally to study at the University of Michigan while playing baseball on scholarship. After graduating college I was not drafted and began playing independent professional baseball. I played in the Frontier League for the Washington Wild Things in Pennsylvania. Then I played for another professional team in Vallejo California known as the Vallejo Generals. I am 5th on the all-time home run list for Michigan and I led the team in home runs and RBI's 3 out of my 4 years playing for Michigan. I have won awards such as all-league, all-state, and all-midwest, but my most precious award was a strength and conditioning all american award which I received in 2011 at Michigan. I have ran many summer camps from Michigan to Alaska and in the off-season I have always worked with kids privately. I prefer working with catchers and hitters because that was my expertise playing this great game. My focus while coaching is to mold players into better players. There is no right technique to play any position in baseball, there is only a right way. The only things a young player can control in baseball is his confidence, focus, effort, attitude, work-ethic, preparation, and mental toughness. My catching lessons can be broken into 3 sections, recieving, throwing, and blocking. If a catcher can do these three things and hit effectively then they may have a bright baseball future ahead of them. Helping kids achieve their dreams is one of my passions and baseball is my other passion. If a kid is hungry, wants to learn, works very hard, and gives me the kind of effort I will give them, then I believe I can strengthen weaknesses and bring their strengths to a whole other level.
