More About Coach Clyde

While in college I coached a u-10 boys soccer team. I have also done many one on one sessions with all ages. While playing with DC, I trained a few different club teams, boys and girls. Throughout my career, I worked a countless number of camps and clinics working with kids of all ages!

I was fortunate enough to play soccer at every level. I grew up playing club soccer and high school soccer. I got a scholarship to play at the collegiate level. After playing all four years at ECU, I went on to play with the Richmond kickers in the USL. Followed by 7 years with DC United and 2 with the New England Revolution. I also got some experience with the full men's national team while earning 1 cap against England in 2005.

2005: I joined United after a season with the Richmond Kickers (USL 1).
2006: I became a regular player for the United, appearing in 24 games.
2007: I took over as a starter in the defensive midfield spot midway through the season. I had three assists in 25 games (16 starts).
2008: I played in all but three minutes of the team’s entire League season. I had 30 games played, 30 starts, 2,697 minutes played and two goals, all career highs. I also played in all four CONCACAF Champions’ Cup games, all four U.S. Open Cup games, all three SuperLiga games and four of six Champions League games.
2010: Having played a career total of 153 games, I joined only five other players who have played 150 matches or more for D.C. United.
2012: Joined the Revolution in December 2011 through the Re-Entry Process. Was the Revolution’s second pick in Stage 2 (22nd overall in the second round). Made 29 regular-season starts at central midfield.

We will work on the basics and work on proper technique. If you can master these two things, you can play at almost any level. We will work on using one or two two touch rather than three and four. This will enable you to play quicker which will help your game and help you speed up your thought process on the field!

Clyde was a great coach

Coach Clyde worked with my child and was absolutely wonderful, he taught my child techniques and tips that no one else has ever told her and we were very impressed. I highly recommend Coach Clyde and will use him again!

Coach Clyde did a great job with our son. He gave him great pointers and he excited to practice.

Coach Clyde has been great for my daughter - has focused on those skills she was looking to improve and has skilled overall advice as well. He's run a number of drills that she can use on her own. In addition, he's timely, flexible, and communicative. It's a pleasure!

My son really enjoyed his training session with Coach Simms! What sets him appart from other coaches is his ability to not only teach from a coach's perspective but also his ability to complement from a player's perspective.
I highly recommend him and my son and I are already looking forward to future sessions.

Coach Clyde was a great coach. After one session I saw a big difference in the way my son played. His training helped added techniques and greatly helped my son. He also gave my son tons of confidence in they way he played. I would recommend Coach Clyde to anyone.

Clyde was great with our 7 year old! Very Patient and kind. Declan loved moving up "Levels" during their shooting game and although he is a bit difficult to focus Clyde kept him engaged for the full hour! Looking forward to future lessons!

Coach Clyde was great!! My son learned so much in just the first session. They worked well together and had fun. We look forward to working with Coach Clyde again. Thanks!!

Clyde has been great for our 8 year old son. He is very patient and really great at conveying technique and fundamentals in a language that is easily understandable and highly translatable. He kept our son very focused and engaged. I saw great strides made in just 1 session. We look forward to many more sessions with Clyde - he is an awesome coach, and I highly recommend.
