More About Coach Clint

I was an assistant coach at the University of Findlay (Ohio) from 2009-2011. While there, I helped coach 11 NCAA DII National qualifiers, 2 All-Americans, and 1 National Champion. My previous coaching experience was at Bedford Senior High School where I coach my alma mater in a summer wrestling league that was comprised of some of the best teams in the state of Michigan. During those three years, the team finished 2nd in 2009, 3rd in 2008 and 1st in 2010.

I was also ran my own wrestling camps from 2003- 2005. I recruited and organized every camp and also managed staff support, material, supplies, and finances to run the camp. Campers ranged from 6-18 years old.

I have coached or competed in wrestling for over 20 years and feel that I can provide an athlete with the proper skills and tools that will move them to the next level. Quite simply I love wrestling, a sport like no other!

I graduated from the University of Findlay in 2006, during that time I was a three time NCAA DII National Qualifier and an All-American (4th) in 2006. I was also a two time team captain. I currently told the school record for career pins.

During my High School Career I was a two time Michigan state placer in 2002 and 2001 placing 3rd and 1st respectively. I was also a High School All-American, after placing 8th at the 2002 Nationals High School Coaches Association (NHSCA) National Tournament. I was a part of two MHSAA D1 State championship teams in 1999 and 2001 and a State runner-up team in 2002.

Generally we begin with a good warm up of hand fighting/wrestling that gradually builds into a faster pace. This helps to get the blood pumping, get little sweat going and practice basic moves that you will hit in matches.

From there the session can go a number of ways. We can work on any area that you seem to need help with or want to work on. We can spend the whole session working on those areas if you want or need. Usually we will end the sessions with some faster wrestling to try and apply some of the things that we worked on that session

Jack loved it .!

Coach Clint did a great job coaching my 10 year old son, Ryan. He identified some quick fixes in how he worked on bottom. He not only showed how to perform each move, but the rationale of why each step was performed in a certain way, and the implications of not done correctly. Coach Clint has a great disposition for coaching and kept Ryan completley engaged. In the car ride home Ryan stated that the practice went very quickly, and felt much shorter than an hour.

Working with Clint was a great experience for my son. Clint went out of his way to fit the training into our schedule. My son has enjoyed the experience and all his hard work is paying off on the mat.

Coach Clint was a excellent trainer. He helped me discover what I needed to work on and how to improve. His advice was useful and applicable. I simple wish to have more time to drill with him. I have use his teachings to better my wrestling IQ and technique. Coach Clint happily surprised me by getting to know me as a person and not just an athlete . He checked on how my weight cutting was going or just ask how my week had been, not just how the weekend tournament went.

Coach Clint has been and continues to be a great coach! My son began wrestling at 13 and had little to no knowledge of the sport. The club he joined is a fabulous club, but clearly beyond teaching fundamentals. My son's time with Clint has helped him not only catch up to his peers, but also compete with competence and enthusiasm! Clint is avery positive and encouraging coach, spending time on the details that have made the world of difference.

We had our first session with coach Clint today and my son had a great time and learned a ton in only his first session. As a father that has three boys who all have or are participating in sports it is apparent that Clint really knows the sport of wrestling and is an effective communicator and coach. I think the coolest thing for myself and my son was that it felt like even though we were meeting Clint for the first time he seemed truly genuine and enthusiastic in the desire to help my son improve. I believe Clint clearly has the ability to help any wrestler at what ever skill level and we highly recommend him if you are looking for someone to help your wrestler if for only one session or multiple sessions!
