More About Coach Christopher
For my coaching experience, I currently coach AYSO United LA and Southbay goalkeepers. I also coach Mayfair JV High School Men’s soccer team in Lakewood. I also was a coaching apprentice for a well known goalkeeper academy for a few years. I typically work with students from about 10 years old and up leading all the way up to high school students. I would like to say I’m good with kids and love coaching kids and in general, so it makes it easier for me. I have the basic coaching certifications and cpr training etc as well.
I currently play for Long Beach city college and am in talks for my next school to transfer to. I have currently 3+ offers ranging from NAIA-D2 and in talks with a D1 school. I competed in the toughest Juco conference in CA, and have played semi professional as well. My first college season at LA Harbor I had the most saves in the league and was a captain of a college team as a freshmen.
Goalkeeping can’t be done without a strong foundation. I would first work on their technique/technical abilities and build off their strengths and learn through their weaknesses. I like to start with some stretching and h to en agility work so they can learn how to control their body and movements, then get into the rest of the session. I usually implement my drills I’ve learned over my 9+ years of goalkeeping and 13+ years of playing soccer so I feel like I have a strong variation of training.
