More About Coach Christopher

I have experiences in coaching youth and high school wrestling. I have volunteered for a few years at Brockton High School coaching the varsity team. I have also ran youth clinics at Brockton High. I have been invited to multiple schools to teach moves and techniques. I'm very good at finding ways to keep kids entertained and interested in learning. I really enjoy teaching the high school kids because any kid who is wrestling at that age does it because they enjoy it.

My accomplishments in high school consisted of 90 wins. I was a four year starter and captain for three of them. My sophomore year I placed 4th in D1 sectionals. Junior year I placed 3rd in D1 Sectionals and 4th in D1 states. My Senior year I won D1 south sectional, placed 3rd at states and 3rd at all states. I went on to wrestle in the New England tournament but after two wins I received an injury that knocked me out of the tournament. I finished my senior year with an undefeated regular season and a final record of 42 and 3. I received most outstanding wrestler of the D1 south sectional tournament. I also won two regular season tournaments that included Marshfield holiday and Whitman Hanson holiday. I had opportunities to wrestle in college but baseball was my first love and I chose to play college baseball.

I would begin by warming up with a light exercise and a good stretch. I would mainly work on the wrestlers weakness depending if it's in neutral, or on the ground top or bottom. My specialty was ground work and riding legs. I like to do a lot of moves drills and to make those drills become muscle memory. I think the most important part is teaching a wrestler how to be comfortable in uncomfortable situations and I would do drills that will help the athlete in any situation they come across.
