More About Coach Christopher
For the past 5 years post-college I have been training athletes at the gym and a few years ago finally took it a step further with coaching. I've been coaching athletes for the last two years and have exponentially expanded my knowledge and skill. In the last two years I've gone from assistant coach to head coach for 7/8th grade boys lacrosse, head JV coach to associative head varsity coach for high school lacrosse, began coaching summer and fall lacrosse for high school, and even expanded my skill from coaching lacrosse to coaching football as well (which I played back in high school). The last two years have been an awesome ride and I just keep on pushing forward.
I'm US Lacrosse certified and have done extensive training on sports therapy for my various fields. I currently coach at the Brooklyn Crescents which is a youth lacrosse program for boys and girls. I also coach at Xaverian High School.
In high school I was one of the youngest players to make Varsity lacrosse for Xaverian. I went from a trying out for goalie to a d-pole to being one of the top middies on my team. I was honored awards such as most improved, coaches awards, both offensive and defensive player of the year award and MVP all through my four years of playing.
I played club lacrosse in college unfortunately after 2 years it was dropped as program but that never stopped me from continuing to play the sport. I started, and still continue to this day, playing adult leagues and tournaments from some known programs such as ULAX, CityLAX, NYCLAX and Gotham.
Every client has different needs and my sessions will adapt to there specifics. Every session will begin with the basic essentials which is a highly intense warmup and stretching segment. Some athletes are unaware of how important this is to them being the best they can be on the field and the aftermath of them coming off the field. During the session of warm ups I'm able to talk to my clients and ask questions about their daily routines, specifically about their body and nutrition. This helps me see where they are pre- and post-session with me. As a client I need to make sure that before and after my workouts and sessions that you are doing everything you should be to be at your top level. Continuing with my session, i would go over their strengths and weaknesses, focusing heavy on the weaknesses and improving that while fine tuning their strengths. Again every athlete is different and I'm adaptable to figuring that out.
