More About Coach Christie
From 2008-2011, I coached the boys varsity team at Marymount International School in Rome, Italy. In 2018 I started coaching a Division 5 varsity girls volleyball team at St Monica Academy in Montrose, CA. I’ve also hosted, this past spring, a training camp, in which I offered 3 months of technical and physical training to girls in grades 8-12.
In high school I was a middle front and middle back player, excelling in offensive and defensive skills. We won second place in the 4A state competitions my junior and senior years. I received All District, All Zone and All State accolades, and was a starting player on the 2006 All state team. I played Division 1 volleyball at a Louisiana State University. My first year I played as a right side strong side blocker and back up setter. My second year I played in the libero position.
I will begin a session with a dynamic warmup to help prevent injuries. Then we will go into ball control drills, as all players need to spend time practicing their ball control. From there the session will be specific to the focus desired. I will also be looking for natural talents and abilities to make suggestions for where a player is most likely to excel. I will offer technical explanation for body movements that will help a player accomplish their goal.

Our first session with Christie was yesterday. My daughter recently was selected to be in club volleyball with no previous experience playing except with friends as a hobby.
