More About Coach Christian

As a captain of Colby lacrosse, I often devised and coordinated practice routines in the fall, as coaches are not allowed to attend practice in the fall in the NESCAC. I also have coached middle school aged children during summer camps at my high school of Belmont Hill. While at Belmont Hill, I also coached the goalies below me in middle school and high school. The age groups I typically work with are kids in middle school or high school. Also, I am very flexible in coaching all skill ranges from someone just starting out to athletes in college.

Played Division 3 lacrosse at Colby College
Goaltender on the 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019 team
All-NESCAC First Team in 2019 and All-NESCAC Second Team in 2017 and 2018
Division 3 All-American 2019

I would be working with mainly goalies, so a typical session would first just start off with some stretching and footwork drills utilising a ladder. Depending on the skill level of the client, I would ask the client to show me their stance without a stick and I would adjust their stance accordingly. Then, I would toss balls at the client and have them catch them with their hand in order to focus on watching the ball all the way, stepping towards the ball, and driving their top hand to the ball. After, I would systematically warm up the goalie with some shots from around the field and politely critique form and adjust positioning. Once warmed up, I would shoot progressively harder to see the skill level the client is at. Then various shooting drills would commence for the remaining time because the best way to improve as a goalie is to step in the cage and see as many shots as possible.
