More About Coach Chris

I have 10+ years coaching experience coaching youth, high school, college, and professional athletes in hitting/pitching/fielding beginner to advanced. I have been a pitching/hitting instructor for youth players to professional players for over 10 years and a travel baseball coach/program director for teams aged 10-18yrs old. I am also the Head Varsity Baseball Coach at a local High School. I have a simple approach to hitting that is taught by professional baseball organizations to reduce strikeouts at the plate and increase contact and hits for power. I use film analysis exit velocity, and Diamond Kinetics metrics in hitting lessons to give the player the most feedback on each swing possible to develop the proper technique from the ground up. I feel with my pitching experience and knowledge base of pitching mechanics, arm care, and conditioning I can increase velocity, control and simplify a pitching delivery to reduce injury while maximizing overall performance. We use hi-speed film analysis and radar guns to chart weekly progress throughout a players lesson plan. Our velocity program has been a great success all players from 12 yrs old through College. In the 2016 Summer Velocity Camp, our College and H.S. pitchers had an average of +4mph gain. Our Current 2016 Fall Velocity Camp group has an average gain of +7mph as of 11/27/16. One player has made a +11mph gain. As results do vary, they are based on Individual effort. Players making the most gains put forth full effort in Velocity sessions and do the required at home daily stretching/mobility & strength program. There is no magic overnight pill for velocity just hard work and proper kinetic chain throwing mechanics allowing players to achieve maximum velocity per their individual body composition.

Pittsburgh Pirates Organization Pitcher — Professional Baseball 1997 – 1999
University of Evansville Pitcher — NCAA D1 Baseball 1994 – 1997
Nevada Griffins MINK CBL Pitcher — College Summer/Travel Baseball
Decatur Blues CICL Pitcher — College Summer /Travel Baseball
Averaged 14.9 k's per game at the D1 level and 11.7 k's per game in his professional career.

Each session starts with an evaluation test of the players assets and skills, from there I develop a training plan focused on areas of improvement and correcting any flaws or mechanics. I value positive reinforcement and explain why each drill is done a certain way to educate the players own knowledge base to encourage self diagnosis. Every player is different and I feel should have their own comfortable approach while incorporating proper mechanics. From fielding, hitting or pitching I let the player dictate the session and we perform skill set repetitions and practice the optimal way to receive the best results.

Great coach and my son is having fun

Coach Chris displayed excellent patience, taking the time to clearly explain my son's strengths and weaknesses, plus possible actions for improvements. He utilized before and after videos very effectively, and has a casual but serious demeanor that my son connected with immediately. This has been a great experience. My son "thought" he was a decent pitcher, now he knows he's going to be a really good one!

Chris has been a huge help to our son. He is great with explaining things to kids, in a way that they can understand and remember it. We just started using him and have already seen improvement, and our kid has a blast!

Coach Chris was knowledgable and patient with Tyler. Lots of work on the basics and technique. Great session overall.

Coach Luttig has done a great job with improving my mechanics and velocity, while also concentrating on my mental approach to the game. Something that is often very overlooked by pitching instructors. He's professional, knowledgeable, positive and goes above and beyond to improve the game for every kid he works with.
Coach Luttig is a great coach. He knows how to put together a winning pitching staff, and help develop talent even when there is a lack of experience. He has a good and patient teaching approach, which makes learning easier. I still come to him for advice even to this day.
Coach Luttig is one of the best coaches I have had the opportunity to play for and coach with. When I started working out with him, I thought I knew how to pitch. Coming off of Tommy John's surgery, he refined my mechanics and got me to throwing like I never thought I could. He not only knows pitching, but he knows the game of baseball inside and out. Baseball is what he knows and I've seen it first hand.
