More About Coach Chris

I bring experience as both a collegiate soccer player and coach, having played four years of college soccer at Westfield State University. I have coached youth players across a wide range of ages and skill levels, including athletes ages 8–16 with Best FC in Massachusetts, as well as coaching at the JV high school level at Shrewsbury High School.

My coaching experience has allowed me to work with players of all ages, from young athletes learning the fundamentals to more experienced players looking to improve their technical skills, decision-making, and overall understanding of the game. I continue to play competitively in men's soccer leagues in Miami multiple times per week, which keeps me actively involved in the game and constantly developing as a player and coach.

I am also currently a soccer referee in Miami, giving me an additional perspective on positioning, game awareness, rules, and decision-making. My experience as a collegiate player, youth and high school coach, active player, and referee allows me to connect with athletes at different stages of their development and tailor training to each player's individual goals.

I competed at the collegiate level for four years at Westfield State University including team captain my senior year. Playing college soccer gave me the opportunity to compete in a highly competitive environment while developing a strong understanding of the technical, tactical, and physical demands of the game.

Throughout my collegiate career, I gained valuable experience training and competing at a high level, learning the importance of discipline, consistency, teamwork, and game preparation. My experience as a college athlete continues to shape the way I train and coach players today.

I remain an active competitive player and currently compete in men's soccer leagues in Miami multiple times per week. Staying active in the game allows me to continue sharpening my skills and bring current, real-game experience into my training sessions.

Clients can expect each session to be structured, high-energy, and tailored to their age, skill level, position, and individual goals. I typically begin with a dynamic warm-up and ball work to get the athlete moving and comfortable on the ball. From there, we focus on technical development through drills involving first touch, dribbling, passing, ball control, and footwork.

As the session progresses, I incorporate game-specific movements and decision-making. Depending on the athlete's position and goals, this may include change of direction, attacking moves, finishing, defensive footwork, passing under pressure, or receiving and turning with the ball. I believe drills should translate directly to real game situations, so I focus on helping athletes understand not only how to perform a skill, but when and why to use it.

Sessions typically finish with competitive, high-intensity drills that challenge the athlete to apply what we worked on while fatigued. My goal is for every player to leave the session more confident, technically sharper, and with a clear understanding of what they can continue working on between sessions.
