More About Coach Chris

I work with all ages. Have coached teams as young as 8-10 and worked camps up through college age. I enjoy working with kids that want to get better and really love this awesome game.

Went from a walk-on at Northwestern (no college offers) to pitching 8 seasons professionally as high as 2 seasons in AAA Omaha for the Royals and appearing in MLB spring training. Went an entire season in AA with a 1.64 ERA and followed that up the next year with a 0.98. Played with most of the '15 World Champion roster throughout my time with the Royals.
Also pitched in the Venezuelan, Dominican, and Colombian winter leagues.

First session I like to play catch while just talking and building rapport. This way I can get a feel for the student's natural mechanics. I varied my arm angle from as low as submarine style to as high as a high 3/4, so I am a big proponent for working with a kid's natural makeup and creating solid, repeatable mechanics from there.

Client Reviews

Chris has been instrumental in mentoring my two sons to feel more confident and it shows both on and off the field. They both seem happier and even their teachers and baseball coach have commented on the changes they've seen in my sons. We first started working with Chris to work on some aspects of their technique/mechanics - one son is a pitcher, the other a position player. We are thankful that Chris has been able to give them pointers that have definitely made a positive impact in their games. Chris also mentored my kids with some tough mental stuff that they were going through and it's made a world of difference in their lives. We are grateful to have met Chris and for all of his help, kindness, and willingness to take the time to help my kids so much. Thank you.
I went to one of Chris's camps years ago when he still played for the Kansas City Royals. Chris was my favorite player because he took the time to get to know me and noticed some things with my mechanics that no one else had ever noticed or helped me with. I am now in college and still feel like he was the best coach I ever had.
I sent my son to work with Chris and was very pleased with the results. My son is really shy, so I wasn't sure how much he would get out of the session. Chris helped my son feel comfortable right off the bat and to my surprise was able to get my son to work on his mechanics starting day 1. Chris gave us some "homework" to practice before the 2nd session and it was cool to see how much my son not only picked up but also that it stuck! I've recommended Chris to several other parents who have had the same positive experience working with Chris.
