More About Coach Chloe

I have experience coaching at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, an NCAA Division II institution. During my time at UAH, I was a graduate assistant coach for the women's lacrosse program. I was responsible for coaching the offense during team practices, where I organized drills, coached offensive sets, and taught the mechanics of dodging and shooting. Additionally, I conducted individual and small group sessions to develop offensive and defensive skills, and organized film sessions to enhance awareness. I worked with collegiate athletes aged 17-22 at UAH.

In high school, I assisted with the Sherwood Park Titans women's box lacrosse teams, working with girls aged 12-15 throughout their season.

During my time at Newberry College, I played for the NCAA Division II women's lacrosse program for four seasons. In my freshman year (2018-19), I was honored as the SAC All-Conference Second-Team midfielder. In the following season (2019-2020), I was recognized as the Astroturf Offensive Player of the Week for the SAC conference, but unfortunately, the season ended early due to COVID-19. Moving on to my junior year (2020-2021), I was named SAC All-Conference First Team Midfielder. Lastly, in my senior year (2021-2022) at Newberry College, I was named Astroturf Offensive Player of the Week for the SAC conference and also made it to the SAC All-Conference second team. After the season, I was selected for the IWLCA Senior All-Star Game.

After completing my senior season at Newberry College, I transferred to the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) for my final year of eligibility. During my fifth year at UAH, I was recognized as the GSC All-conference First-Team midfielder and also earned the GSC Player of the Week title twice. I earned IWLCA All-Region Honors Second Team during the 2022-2023 season.

In a typical session, I would start by breaking down techniques based on the player's skill development needs. To begin, we will focus on footwork and body positioning techniques, paying attention to detail and identifying mechanics that require improvement. Once we have worked on the techniques and details of the desired skills, we will move on to specific drills to enhance those skills. I have tailored drills for offense and defense, allowing us to put the learned techniques into practice. As a coach, I am hands-on and will practice with the player, demonstrating exactly what I am teaching.

I have experience coaching offensive techniques such as dodging and shooting, as well as defensive techniques including footwork, ground balls, checking, and broader concepts of man-to-man and zone defenses. Additionally, I have numerous ideas and drills for working on draw techniques.

Coach Chloe was awesome with our daughter Sam!

Chloe Wood has a unique ability to make a positive impact on any lacrosse team she is a part of. Her fierce competitive nature coupled with her relentless work ethic lead to an incredible collegiate career. She is an incredible leader and coach. She takes the time to get to know each of her athletes on an individual basis and motivates them to develop. Chloe’s passion for lacrosse shines bright every time she steps on the field.
Chloe is not only a great player but a fantastic coach. She is able to use everything she learned during her collegiate career and bring each player she sees to the next level. In her small group lessons and one-on-one individuals she was able to help me find more power in my shots and overall confidence in my play. She is able to fix technique to help each player reach their potential. She is truly and amazing coach, and I am lucky she was able to coach me.
