More About Coach Chase
My coaching resume includes coaching at Robert Frost Middle School, Rockville Soccer Club, and doing private sessions. I started coaching in the summer of 2023, doing private sessions with younger kids teaching them the basics of the game. I’ve continued to do private sessions from 2023 - present, however I now frequently work with older kids as well, primarily with elementary, middle, and high school students. I took the next big step in my coaching career in the spring of 2025, assisting with the Robert Frost Middle School boys team. I worked with the team for the whole season from March 2025 - May 2025. This spring I also coached there from March 2026 - May 2026. In March of 2026, I also began at Rockville Soccer Club. I became the coach of the u9 boys team, as well as the clubs keepers. I’ve worked for Rockville Soccer Club from March 2026 - Present, and will be continuing until I go to college this fall. I currently possess a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) Grassroots License. Furthermore, I completed the 11v11 and 9v9 grassroots courses in person and the 7v7 course online. I am also USSF Safe Soccer Certified!
I started out my club soccer career with Potomac Soccer, playing there from 2016-2019. I then moved down to play classic for a year in order to pursue other sports. After a year break from COVID, I joined MSI Academy Travel for the 2021/2022 season. Next, I moved to Juventus DC Metro, where I played from August 2022 to November 2023. During that time, I also played on the Wootton HS JV boys team as a freshman from August 2022 to November 2022. The next year, I made varsity and became the starting goalkeeper from August 2023 to November 2023. In January 2024, I switched club teams to the FC Frederick 08B team. Starting and playing in goal for a nationally ranked team helped me grow astronomically. I played there from January 2024 to June 2025. We won several showcases and tournaments during my time there, including the Jefferson Cup Showcase, Bethesda Premier Tournament, and Potomac Memorial Tournament. During that time, I also spent my junior year playing for the Wootton boys varsity team from August 2024 to November 2025. I played USL Youth in the summer of 2025, before playing for Herndon Youth Soccer Club in the fall of 2025. In the spring of 2026, I committed to Washington & Jefferson College in Washington PA and began playing semi-professional, becoming a member of the Frederick Kings semi-pro team. This summer, I’m playing with Defiance FC to prepare for my freshman season of college soccer!
For field players - When working with field players, I start the session off with a dynamic stretching warm-up. During the dynamic stretching warm-up, I'll ask the player what skill they want to work on during the session. I'll then move on to a fairly high-intensity passing drill to warm up the players' ball control, and also ensure I recognize and help fix any bad habits. I'll then move on to drills that focus on that specific skill. Depending on time, I'll try to do multiple drills that put the player into different situations with that skill to ensure they are ready to use it at any given time. I'll end the session with a fun game or challenge, then encourage them to stretch before leaving!
For goalkeepers - When working with goalkeepers, I start the session off with a dynamic stretching warm-up, before moving into a hands and feet warm-up with the ball. I'll then ask the player what skill they want to work on during the session. I'll then move on to a more structured drill, focusing on that specific skill. Depending on time, I'll do a handful of drills that put the goalkeeper in different situations that use that skill, to ensure they are ready to apply it whenever necessary. I'll then end the session with a fun goalkeeper-specific game, and encourage them to stretch before leaving!
