More About Coach Cassie

Coach Cassie has experience as a head coach for a girls lacrosse team, with athletes ranging from 4th grade to 8th grade. She also has experience as a supporting coach for high-school athletes. Off the field, Cassie has over 7 years of experience as a Fitness & Nutrition coach, often working with young athletes for performance, injury prevention and rehabilitation. She has led development clinics and camps for aspiring young athletes, as well as 1-on-1 and sport specific training sessions. Cassie holds various certifications, including US Lacrosse Youth Coach, American Council on Exercise Personal Training, Precision Nutrition Level 2, CPR/First Aid/AED, Training for Warriors, TRX Suspension & RIP Group Training, Endurance Training Specialist and a Bachelor's degree in Sport Management, with a concentration in Exercise Science.

Cassie Taylor is originally from Massachusetts and began playing lacrosse in the New England Prep School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) as a freshman in high school. The first women's lacrosse game she ever participated in was also the first she had ever seen--the sport was still quite new in the girl's division and had yet to establish a full set of standard rules. Having been involved with various sports teams throughout her youth, she instantly found an affinity for the strategy, skill and varied athletic demands of women's lacrosse. She quickly rose to the varsity roster and led as captain through her senior year in high-school. Following her high-school career, she attended Elon University in North Carolina and played as a mid-fielder for the women's club lacrosse team. During her tenure on the roster, the club team transitioned to a Division II contender. Elon Women's Lacrosse is now a Division I team in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA). Cassie is excited to continue her involvement in the growth of women's lacrosse and contribute to the development of young female athletes in the Greater Houston area. In her professional life, Cassie is a Fitness & Nutrition Coach and works in non-profit development. She is passionate about health promotion in local communities and is driven to create easy, enjoyable ways for people of all ages to remain active, healthy and happy.

In addition to Cassie's experience in Lacrosse, she has completed the following athletic pursuits:
-2 time Boston Marathon runner
-Over 30 races completed including Half-Marathons, Trail Races, 10k, 5k, Sprint Triathlons, Obstacle Course Races and Mud Runs

Every session is customized for the athlete I am working with, however the following "tenants" will always be included.

-Individualized, Functional Warm-up:
In my initial sessions, I will conduct functional movement assessments to identify the athlete's strengths, weaknesses and tendencies. Warm-up exercises will be designed for the athlete's specific areas of focus to develop total body, balanced strength and eliminate any compensation patterns. This gives us a solid foundation to build upon and prevent injuries.

-Skills & Fundamentals:
The basics can never be overlooked. Each athlete must remain diligent in mastering the fundamental skills for their sport, as well as position-specific aptitude and game knowledge/strategy. To be a force on the field, athlete's can't rely solely on talent--they must have basic game skills that feel second-nature to them and mental composure to always out-strategize their opponents.

-Athletic Conditioning:
Depending upon the findings of our initial assessments, each athletic will be given drills for speed, agility, cardio conditioning, power and strength.

There is a phenomenal balance between working hard, motivation, and knowing what her clients need. She knows the days when you need to be pushed to your 'max-out' level and the days to take it easy and work on the spirit.
Cassie does a careful evaluation of each individual before designing a fitness plan in order to achieve optimum results and avoid unnecessary injury. She has worked with my husband and I individually, as well as designing some sessions we can do together. This really motivates me to get out of my comfort zone and take on some new challenges!
Cassie is very approachable and she WILL HELP YOU. She meets you where you are and works with you to give you the assistance you need. I have never worked with another trainer, but having worked with Cassie, I would compare any future trainer I may have to her. She knows her stuff. We've never run across a problem we couldn't solve or at least come up with solutions to try to solve the problem.
Cassie's approach is not just about a workout. She takes all aspects of fitness into consideration and helps motivate you to achieve your goals. She is able to do so with her knowledge of health, nutrition and physiology.
Cassie is inspirational, knows her 'stuff', and is intuitive to how you react to the program she has outlined for you. She challenges you, encourages you, listens to you, cheers you on! She is a very positive uplifting coach; there is always a bright side with Cassie! I've never had another trainer and I honestly don't think I could do this without her personality, commitment and encouragement.
