More About Coach Casey
I am a Troy, NY native with a strong knowledge and passion for the game of baseball. I have competed against high levels of competition as a catcher. After graduating in 2011 from The State University of New York College at Brockport with a B.S. in Sport Management and a minor in Coaching, I focused on becoming a great baseball instructor. My passion and knowledge of the game have lead me to coach many levels of baseball in just one year. In November of 2011, I became the catching and the strength and conditioning coach for the Troy High Baseball Program. In December of 2011, I received my first head coaching position with Stars and Stripes baseball. I coached the 12u team to a 3rd place finish in the Orlando Florida tournament. I became the catching instructor for the College at Brockport baseball team in February 2012 where the team finished 2nd in the SUNYAC conference. I am a true baseball lover and enjoy the art of playing catcher on the baseball field. I have recently accepted an assistant coaching job at Fulton Montgomery Community College for the 2013 season.
I played for Troy High School, Hudson Valley Community College, and The State University of New York College at Brockport. Some of my achievements as a player included making the 2008 NJCAA College World Series with Hudson Valley and being a member of the 2010 SUNYAC Champion, Brockport Golden Eagles, who advanced to the NCAA Division III tournament. In my senior year, Brockport advanced to the NCAA tournament for a second consecutive year, finishing 3rd in the New York Regional. I have also played on numerous local summer baseball teams. As a player, I won 4 State Championships. These include two as a 13 and 14 year old with the South Troy Dodgers, one with Melvin Roads American Legion in 2007 and one with Nolan Propane of the Albany Twilight League in 2011.
