More About Coach Carlo

As a current student-athlete at Auburn University at Montgomery, I bring a strong understanding of the game from both sides of the touchline. Competing at the NCAA Division II level, I’ve had the privilege of helping my team win the Gulf South Conference (GSC) tournament. Before coming to the U.S., I played semi-professional soccer in Italy for five years, where I developed a deep appreciation for technique and discipline inside and outside the field. For the past two years, I’ve been coaching at the YMCA in Montgomery, focusing on youth development and team fundamentals. In the past year, I’ve expanded into private one-on-one training, working with players ranging from 8 years old to 20 and up. My sessions are tailored to each athlete’s needs. I love helping players grow their game while making sure they enjoy the process. My goal is to not only improve skills but also build character and a strong mindset.

I’ve been fortunate to experience the game at both the collegiate and semi-professional levels. I currently compete at Auburn University at Montgomery, where I’ve played NCAA Division II soccer for the past two years. In my most recent season, our team made history by winning the Gulf South Conference (GSC) tournament, a highlight of my college career and a testament to the team’s hard work and unity. Before coming to the U.S., I spent five years playing semi-professional soccer in Italy, where I developed my game in a highly competitive environment. Playing in Italy helped shape my technical skills, soccer IQ, and overall discipline on the pitch.

My sessions are focused on a mix of technical drills (such as passing, one-touch play, dribbling through cones, and oriented first touch) and game-realistic exercises (like 1v1s, agility training with color-coded reactions, shooting, and crossing).
You’ll often see creative variations in passing, juggling, and finishing exercises. I integrate fitness and conditioning through soccer-specific movement: change of direction, acceleration drills, and finishing under pressure. My goal is to help players from age 8 to 20+ not just train hard, but train smart — developing decision-making, confidence, and consistency. Every session is adapted to fit the player's current level, with a focus on measurable progress and enjoyment.

Client Reviews

I had the opportunity to work with Carlo in several private sessions, and he also assisted me with the U9 team from the AFC South this past spring. Carlo is not only a great person to work with, but he also has a solid understanding of the game. His support helped me grow as a coach. I took from him some drills and shooting circuits that were both engaging and purposeful for the improvement of the players.
Carlo is the best coach I have had in Montgomery. His knowledge of soccer is amazing, and he has a huge heart. I was nervous for my new season, but Carlo got me very fit and took my skills to the next level.
Great human being, has such a kind soul. He coaches my little brother, and he's always coming to the training session, bringing a wealth of experience and understanding. Definitely recommend!
It's amazing! Whenever there is a mistake, it's worked through and corrected.
