More About Coach Cari
I have 5+ years experience coaching a wide range of athletic ages and populations including youth athletes, high school athletes, as well as college-aged athletes and adults. I currently coach two 14U girl's youth club lacrosse teams for Laconia Lacrosse Club in New Hampshire, as well as Laconia High School girl's JV lacrosse team. In the past, I coached youth club lacrosse at the 10U level for the same club in Laconia, NH. I have also coached overseas in England for the University of Warwick as the Head Coach of the Women's Lacrosse Club Performance Teams and adult level club lacrosse at Nuneaton Lacrosse Club. I currently work more predominantly with high school and youth populations but am comfortable working with all age groups. I currently hold multiple certifications including a Gold Level Women's Lacrosse Coach Certificate from USA Lacrosse and am a Certified Women's Umpire certified by England Lacrosse. I am in the process of gaining my Strength and Conditioning Coach Certificate from the NCSF and hope to finish this by the end of summer 2024.
I played Division 3 lacrosse for Cazenovia College in upstate NY from 2008-2009 where I was the starting goalkeeper and earned ECAC All COnference Honors helping my team to playoffs. I then went to the University of Maryland where I was a travel team goalkeeper for the Division 1 club. While at UMD I became Medical Staff for the Women's Lacrosse Team where I learned the ins and outs of Division 1 athletics. In my Post-Grad era I went to England and became the starting goalkeeper for Loughborough University in England who are in the premier tier of collegiate athletics (equivalent of Division 1 in the US). I helped the First Team to one of the team's best season records in history ultimately and the Championship game where we were runners' up to a team boasting Division 1 and International athletes. While living in England I was drafted to a semi-professional women's lacrosse team and played a season with the Warwick Mavericks as the starting goalkeeper. Most recently I traveled to California and gained some Box Lacrosse experience while playing with the Canadian travel team the BC Storm Selects at USBOXLA Nationals in 2022.
Clients can expect an in person pre-session check in to see how they're feeling that day and a verbal overview of the session in the event modified drills or exercises are needed. After this a thorough Dynamic Stretching session is utilized and a warm up occurs which includes full body movements to prepare the athlete for more movement and to decrease the incidence of injury. Once thoroughly warmed up we will move onto the more sport specific movement drills which will be varied to encompass multiple skills and techniques. Adequate nutrition breaks will be incorporated throughout the session as needed. A thorough cool down including stretching, foam rolling etc. is included at the end of the session. The client will have a quick post-session debrief and time to ask any questions. At this time if an at home program is implemented this will be reviewed and handed or emailed to the client.
