More About Coach Brittany

I have coached at the high school level as an assistant coach for 3 years, and have coached at the 7/8 level for 1 year. Two years of my coaching experience was spent in New Jersey at New Egypt High School. The other year of coaching experience I have has been spent with Flower Mound at the high school and 7/8 grade level where I continue to coach. I am able to break down each specific skill and work with each player to improve in skills that they lack in.

I was a 3 year starter at Montclair State University. I played low defense and defensive midfield from Fall 2010-Spring 2014. I have played lacrosse for 9 years then continued on as a coach for 3 years. I played a lot of midfield in high school, but mostly defense in college.

In a typical session I would focus on any specifics the player needs to work on. I will incorporate a lot of core work, footwork, stick skills, and speed/agility. Defense is my specialty. I am able to break down all the basics of defense, go over defensive positioning, how to slow down a fast break, what to say to a player's teammates while on defense, and perfect the timing of a caused turnover (checks and interceptions). I also work a lot on speed and agility working with ladders, cones, hurdles, etc. Footwork is very important in lacrosse! For attackers I like to focus on shooting techniques, dodging, offball movement, crease rolls, and how to use incorporated footwork to cut and get around their defenders. Stick skills are very important and I like to add wall ball sessions each lesson.
