More About Coach Brion

I have experience coaching athletes across a wide range of age groups and competitive levels. My coaching background includes working with youth players from U7 through U17, specifically with boys’ teams at the U11–U13 levels. In addition to youth coaching, I’ve also worked with college athletes from NCAA Divisions I through III, both during their off-seasons and after graduation.

At the semi-professional level, I’ve coached in the Bay State Soccer League, where the team was composed primarily of current and former collegiate players. I also have experience coaching at the district level, helping to develop young athletes through competitive local programs.

I typically work with athletes ranging from U7 to post-college age. My coaching is supported by a Grassroots 11v11 Coaching License from U.S. Soccer, which has equipped me with the foundational tools to effectively develop players in both technical and tactical aspects of the game.

I was a four-year varsity starter in high school, where I earned MVP honors during my senior year. After graduation, I attended Bridgton Academy, leading the team in goals and receiving the team MVP award. I went on to compete at the collegiate level for four years at Endicott College. During my off-seasons in college, I also played semi-professionally with Greater Lowell United, gaining valuable experience at a higher level of competition. These experiences helped shape my development as both a player and coach.

Clients can expect a structured, high energy session that focuses on developing technical skills, decision-making, and positional awareness. I emphasize key areas such as change of direction and tempo, tight-space dribbling, speed dribbling, skill moves, shooting, and first touch. I also incorporate positional roles and responsibilities based on the athlete’s specific position and the tactical system they play in.

Each session begins with a dynamic warm-up that includes movement prep and mobility work, gradually transitioning into drills that focus on quick changes of direction and short passing combinations. From there, we progress into more technical elements such as dribbling in tight spaces, speed dribbling under pressure, and applying skill moves in game-like situations. Shooting and first-touch drills are always part of the session, with an emphasis on both technique and decision-making. We typically end with a fun and competitive finishing drill to reinforce the day’s focus while keeping athletes engaged and motivated.
