More About Coach Bridget
What experience do you have coaching or training athletes? -- I have 10 years of coaching and training youth athletes
At what levels have you coached? -- I have coached players of beginner to moderate levels
Where have you worked as a coach or trainer? -- I served as a lacrosse coach for T3 Shore, a New Jersey-based girls travel program, for five consecutive summer and winter seasons between 2013-2018. I later became a Fox Lane youth lacrosse coach during the 2019-2021 Spring seasons. Throughout high school and college, I worked at lacrosse clinics and camps year round. Since 2012 I have been as a personal lacrosse trainer on an ad-hoc basis.
What age groups do you typically work with? --Typically elementary school through high-school level
Do you have any industry certifications? -- I am CPR certified
In high school, I played four years of varsity lacrosse and two years of varsity basketball. During my lacrosse career, I served as a two-time team captain and helped my team win a New Jersey sectional title and two Shore Conference titles. I was later named a two-time Under Armour All-American, a US Lacrosse first-team All-American and a 2014 Academic All-America my senior year.
I went on to play Division I lacrosse at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a 4x year varsity player, earning 3x ACC Championship titles and one National Championship.
What can a client expect from a typical session with you? -- Initially I would like to interview the player(s) to better understand their athletic goals, no matter how big or small. After an initial interview I would look to conduct a baseline assessment of the athlete(s) to understand what level they are currently.
What do you focus on (specific drills or techniques)? --The focus of each session would depend mostly on the initial introduction and baseline assessments, however I will always look to focus each session on fundamental skillsets related to the sport.
Walk us through how you work out an athlete, so clients have a better sense of how you run a session. -- I would typically develop a personalized training program for the athlete(s) within a scope of time, and look to track that progress overtime. For example, if the goal of the athlete is to learn how to play lacrosse in three months, I would break down that large goal into smaller components like cradling, passing and shooting. I would look to come up with different measures of success for each component and look to track them over time. If I were to meet with the athlete once a week, I would divide the time in each session accordingly to focus on those areas.
