More About Coach Brian
I have been coaching soccer for 18 years now. I have coached both girls and boys, ages 8 to 18. I have coached both for club and High school. I have been a girls head coach for 5 years before relocationg to KC, MO in August of 2023. I was the assistant Varsity coach at FIat Iron / Cornerstone Christian for 2 years. I was the head coach at Resurrection College Prep High School from 2016-2017. Prior to that was a Sophomore boys coach at Saint Viator High School in Arlington Heights. I coached 6 years at Palmer Ridge High School in Monument, CO. I started coaching at Rush Soccer Club in Colorado Springs, CO. I coached everything from u-9 developmental teams to u-16 premier teams. Again doing both girls and boys teams. I greatly enjoy working with u11-u14 ages on teaching them the fundamentals needed to succeed at the higher levels.
Played recreational league soccer as a keeper. Played both indoor and outdoor soccer as well as playing indoor Futsal in a rec league. Currently not playing in a league.
My session plan depends on the individual. Before having the first session, I would like to take a few minutes to cover where the player is at, and what they’d like to work on. Dependent on that I will then decide what kind of session would be best to improve the player’s skills and to meet their goals as well. I will say that the ability to control the ball is critical for building success on either offense or defense. So there is almost always a need to do technical training.
I do like to do small group sessions of up to 4 players. So I can move through individual ball work training then on to 1v1 through 1 v 3 work.
