More About Coach Brian
Thanks to my Dad, I've been around the game of baseball as a student, player and fan since I was five years old. I was a Michigan High School All Star and went on to be a four-year letterman at a Division-I school in North Carolina as a left-handed pitcher. I'm currently 30 years old and I still play in an Atlanta recreational league.
I've had the distinct privilege to learn from some great coaches over the years, including Steve McCatty, former pitching coach for the Washington Nationals, and Dick Cooke, former auxiliary coach for the gold medal winning Team USA (Justin Verlander, Jered Weaver, et al.).
I have coached at a number of camps from Michigan to North Carolina since I was 18 years old. I have been giving private lessons through CoachUp since its start in 2011.
At a December 2003 Perfect Game showcase, I received a Perfect Game Grade of 8, which put me in a class of potential draft picks and/or excellent college prospects. I pitched a no-hitter in the 2004 Farmington High School tournament. I was one of the starting pitchers in the 2004 Michigan HS All-Star Game played at Comerica Park, the home of the Detroit Tigers. I was clocked at 87 mph on the radar gun at a 2006 scout day. I have played against many current MLB players, including Josh Donaldson, Justin Smoak, Brett Gardner, D.J. Lemahieu, Dustin Ackley, Chris Getz and Zach Putnam.
It depends on what the client wants to get out of the session. Typically, after stretching, we will toss to warm up the arm (with throwing instructions mixed in depending on how advanced the client is) and follow that up with drills tailored to the client's position(s) of interest. I specialize in pitching, but know the fundamentals and drills for all positions.
No matter what we do in each session, I will teach repetition and maintaining a positive attitude in striving for success.

Coach Brian is great! My son had his first session last night, and he has talked about nothing else since! He can't wait for me to schedule more sessions! I am so excited to see all he will learn!
Kelly (CoachUp client)
My son has enjoyed working with Brian. We have seen a lot of improvement in not only his skill level but also his confidence. Brian is experienced & professional & connects well with Malcolm. We look forward to more coaching from Brian.
John (CoachUp client)
My son is 11 years old, has played baseball since he was 4, and just loves the game! Johnny wanted to enhance his skills beyond team practices and my ability to teach has reached it's peak. We just completed a 5 series with Coach Brian and have just reloaded. Coach Brian is a calm, fun loving, yet critical coach who knows how to teach the technical aspects of the game in a way an 11 year old can understand. If you're looking for a great personal coach with a great outlook on life and the game, look no further, book now.

He helped me with many things just in the first day and gave me some good drills to work on at home. He is a very knowledgeable person of baseball and I will be sure to be signing up for more sessions.
