More About Coach Brian

I've trained players at the high school and college levels both individually and team oriented. Most recently I helped a former college teammate go from 4th string catcher, to the starting catcher in a matter of a couple months. I am currently offering hitting lessons, but I also have other complete player programs available upon request. I typically work with more advanced athletes who have a high goal in the game of baseball. If you want to play at the college and pro levels I have insight and knowledge on what it takes to develop yourself into that caliber of player. I also currently coach an 18U summer team out of the Bay Area and am highly involved in that program as well. I want to change the industry of player development and how we teach our youth and amateur players to reach their maximum potential.

I played Junior College baseball for 2 years and was the Conference Player of the Year and an All-American my freshman year. I had a series of injuries that set my career back, but I continued to play at Cal State Monterey Bay for my last 2 years. I was a dynamic leadoff hitter and hold the single season record for stolen bases at the school.

My ultimate goal for my players is to have a better understanding of how mechanics can create a competitive advantage for hitters. If I can get them to understand these movement patterns they can ultimatley build themselves into the player they've always wanted to be. I use slow motion video of their swing to get a better understanding on where they can improve to achieve more consistency and power. My lessons will be hands on teaching, as opposed to throwing batting practice for an hour while the player gets his hacks in. I will use certain drills and hitting cues based on what I see in the video of their swing. If the player does not have a passion or drive to get better, these training sessions will not be for him.
