Brandon J.

Hello my name is Brandon J. and I am a 2003 graduate from Highland High School in Palmdale, CA. I pitched at Antelope Valley College where I was 2-0 in conference play with a 0.96 ERA coming out of the bullpen as a freshman. My sophomore season I transferred and was part of the Western States Southern Conference Championship with the baseball program at College of the Canyons where I held a 5.13 ERA in 2009 before finishing my final two seasons at San Diego Christian College. I also played on the Los Angeles Dodgers scout team in 2006-2010

I graduated as a double major at San Diego College with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and an emphasis in Business and am currently getting my Masters at Ohio University in Coaching Education.


As a coach, I was the Assistant Coach for the 2011 Palm Springs Tournament Champions, Team San Diego. I was also named South All-Star Game Pitching Coach for the Western Baseball Association during the summer 2011 before joining the San Diego Christian Hawks coaching staff for the 2011-2012 seasons. At SDC, I also was the Assistant Sports Information Director, Admissions Tele-counselor and was the PA announcer for all home-sporting events and a recruiter for the 2012 and 2013 seasons.

I then went across town to Southwestern Community College where he has been the pitching coach during the 2013 season. The teams pitching staff has been in the top three in the state for 9 straight weeks. I had Matt DeRosier drafted from my staff in the 24th round of MLB Draft by the Washington Nationals.

I like to first watch a player throw on our first session. I like to take video and dissect what I see through video analysis rather than trying to say I can see everything seeing a player the first time. I then like to find out what makes a player comfortable and we start working from there. Sometimes we could have a dry first have of a lesson just working on wind up or stretch. I then like to get into finding release points, lower half drive and mental focus.
